New from oz

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am currently studying for my bachelors degree in health science and nutritional medicine (in my second year) and so I would have to say that after everything that I have learnt my diet is fairly healthy, I would say at least 70%plant based, but the majority of it is cooked, ie, steamed, in casseroles, vegetable soups, baked, (totally love a massive plate of baked carrots, corn, and pumkin. Here's the thing tho, even though I eat pretty healthy I have lost roughly 5 kilos since I started studying Nutrition, I cant shift the rest and often feel sluggish and bloated. I have roughly 10kilos to lose. A friend has been looking into the raw food diet and singing it's praises so I am starting to make the change over. I would love any advice on anything really, and should I expect to still go through a detox period if my diet already consisted of so much plant foods, although they were cooked. Thanks heaps, Cheers.

Hi Krizzy, cooked, steamed, and baked create a sense of slowness I guess. I went through a very mild detox if any so not everyone has big nasty detox symptomes. I would say stick with it and remember that you feel sluggish when you eat cooked next time you get hungry and the more meals raw you have the better you will feel if you apply what you are learing in your studies as well with the correct balance of fats vitamens and minerals. Welcome to a world of great health.

Thankyou, I appreciate your reply. Have to admit I made the absolute best salad today with every imaginable vegetable thrown in and it was delicious. We're now in spring here and so the weather is warming up which I have to admit is making it easier, thanks again.

Lucky! It's starting to get cold here. You're welcome Krizzy salads are great! I'm planning on using exercise to keep me warm in the cold months but that won't stop the crappy weather and the darkness. I have no problem talking to you so you're welcome again!

The little welcome guy was very cute, so thankyou for that, it made me smile. It says that your 100% raw, how long did it take for you to become 100%. You must be extremely dedicated, and healthy...lol
