I don't want to give you false hopes but I can tell you a true story. I was 1 week pregnant, confirmed by my doctor and I had the exact same thing happen to me as what you described. A couple of weeks later I started to spot. I went to the doctor and he said I needed complete bedrest and couldn't lift anything over 5 pounds or I would lose the baby. My husband at the time was not working (only I was) and so I couldn't stay in bed and rest. I resolved myself to the fact that I would most likely lose this baby. Another week went by and I was at work and felt a gush and the next thing I knew there was blood everywhere and cramping. I went to the hospital (riding the back of a motorcycle-not the ideal situation) and they [hospital]informed me that I had miscarried. Saw a doctor a couple of days later, the HCG levels had decreased over the weekend, he also did an ultrasound and examined tissue/clots of blodd. I went back home and then continued working and my period continued on for about 3 more weeks. I had no doubt that I had lost the baby. The bleeding wouldn't stop so my doctor suggested a D & C. I did not have medical insurance at the time and so I didn't have it done. I decided I would go to the doctors as soon as I qualified for medical insurance through my employer. Well, the bleeding eventually stopped and I decided I didn't need a D &C and I delayed going to see the doctor because my period was back on track but several weeks later I decided that I should probably have a check up to make sure I was really o.k. I went to the doctor and he informed me that I was 4 months pregnant! How can this be when the hospital told me I had miscarried? The doctor couldn't explain it. Anyway, my daughter is now 18 and a freshman in college. I am not giving medical advice, and I was not eating raw at the time but your story reminded me of mine. The doctor may recommend a D & C to clean you out--but keep in mind you could possibly still be pregnant. I was. If I had had the recommended D & C I would have lost her. I would assume that you are [pregnant]until you are sure that you aren't. That's just my advice. I hope you find out soon and its the news that you want!
