Raw food newbie, need some help :)

Hey
I am in the beginning of my raw food journey! I started researching the raw foods diet a couple of months ago, gradually adding in more and more raw food. I met someone that treated her cancer with a raw foods diet successfully and it got me intrigued. I am about 75% raw on good days My biggest challenge right now is that I have a hard time feeling "full" when I eat raw all day long. I am not actually craving cooked food, but can't get a full feeling unless I eat a small bit of cooked food. ... very frustrating! I look forward to all the info and support at this board. My goal is to be 99% raw by the end of this year.

awesome goal!! and good luck in raw foods. as for the full thing i'm not sure waht to suggest, i had that problem and i ate too many nuts until i realized that veggies make me feel full and much better afterwards, so now i eat gigantic salads every day, and i throw in everything i have in my fridge

Hi Carla,

I'm new to raw as well. That's a great goal you've set for yourself!

When you say you don't feel full, is that physically, or mentally? I've noticed that sometimes I think I'm not full, but then I think that I've been eating such heavy cooked food for so long that maybe it's more a state of mind than actually being hungry. The vegetables and fruits I've been eating as 70% of my diet are much lighter than what I'm accustomed to. I think it will take some time to adjust to being full on lighter foods. They certainly make my body feel worlds better than the cooked stuff!

If you are physically hungry, then maybe try eating some good multi-grain bread. Something that's dense and will definitely provide some bulk in your system. Since you said you're about 75% raw now, I would think that would be okay. You can transition these foods out later as you start getting closer to your goal.
