the certified nutritionist program that i'm doing is kind of like an associate's degree. it's a 2 year distance learning program that i got involved with when i was managing a health food store. it's geared more towards alternative healing, vitamins/minerals/supplements/herbs to take for certain conditions and also emphasizes a primarily vegetarian diet and also discusses lifestyle recommendations too. the "food pyramid" thing you're thinking of is more of a registered dietitian program that's a 4 year degree that, of course is something i'm not at ALL interested in.
as far as the raw food lifestyle goes, what i know is primarily self taught. i have been fortunate to meet some really great people that know A TON and have been very forthcoming with whatever information they have and it has inspired me to incorporate the raw food lifestyle into what i'm learning through my program for when i actually do something with this degree!
