Hi.
I'm not a raw food eater yet but almost. I'm picking up 2 books from a bookstore today and am awaiting a book from amazon.

I've been a vegetarian for 24 years.

Several years ago I went on the Cabbage Soup Diet and lost 56 pounds which have stayed off. The diet rules say that if you lose a certain amount of weight in a week then you have to go off it for 2 days which I did. I was astonished to realise that my body missed the way I was eating. With 4 out of the 7 days only raw foods with 1 baked potato I really enjoyed it.

I've been a diabetic now for almost 4 years and have read that going raw might be able to help me lower my blood sugar, which I have to desperately do.

I can't wait to start reading the threads and asking questions.

I'm glad that you are all here.

Welcome Descartesmum! One book that I haven't read personally but is written by one of the gurus in the raw food movement is "There is a Cure for Diabetes" by Dr Gabriel Cousens. I went to the lecture that he gave in NYC, and everything that he said made sense from a logical standpoint. I hope that helps

Also Dr Gabriel Cousens,M.D. has the Tree of Life Rejuvination Center which you can find online, and I think there is a video on there, I also think youtube.com may have a video about raw and diabetes, or google videos. You must eat some fresh raw foods if you are vegetarian? Raw foodists may be all raw or a percentage raw, it is discovering health from raw and appreciating good health that is important.
