Weird Newbie

I am a newbie here and I thought I would introduce myself. My name is phoenix and I live in Ontario Canada. I am a unschooling mama of 4 living out our dreams on a 6 acre organic Farm. Sounds wonderful, and it is cept over the past 4 years my health has gone to crap and I am at the point right now that I cant eat anything where it doesnt make me puke, crap or severe pains through my stomach. I have had IBS , celiac, and a bunch of other stuff thrown at me, but nothing solid. They want to do all this envasive testing, that I really dont want to do. SOOOOO, the naturalpath I was seeing told me to go raw. See what happens. If I can get my body in line there will be no real need to test. So here I am. I am scared...but then again , I am guessing it cannot be any worse then the pain and other intestional stuff I have endured over the years. I am however looking forward to learning and I am ready to fake it till I make it at this point. This is something I have to do. There is no more choices for me. There can be no more excuses or cover ups. I am excited about the changes however and am looking forward to seeing myself in the coming weeks. I am ready for change like I have never been ready for anything else in my life. Now , though, I need help. Where to start, what to do? help.
Even thoough I have felt pain and all the other stuff that I have gone through , its amazing hwo much change scares me. How do you newbies deal with family? I know they will have alot to say. I am so ready for this.
anyway, talk later. I look forward to getting to know you all.

That is so amazing. I have also had the same symptoms that you have had with the nausea, vomiting and stomach pains. So weird. I have always been a vegetarian until I had the last two of my three kids. When I became pregnant back to back my body really suffered and I began to eat meat from sources already on the SAD and that is when my problems really started. Anyway, I fixed it by completely eliminating anything from my diet that was not in its pure form. Basically, if either I or nature didn't make then I didn't touch it. Since then, I have had no problems and my weight is finally coming back and I feel better than I have felt in years. We (myself, hubby and 3 kids) are all raw vegan and everyone is reaping the benefits in massive amounts. Raw is the way to go for so many reasons. I hope all works out well for you and good luck on your new journey.

if you want an excellent book on raw foods, read "Living on Live Foods" by Alissa Cohen. it will help you understand and organize a raw food lifestyle.

it's an absolutely inspiring and fantastic book, but be aware that it's website doesn't tolerate any other raw food philosophies but its own. i became a member of the site, but left when i realized this. if anyone posts threads on that forum discussing any other theory, they are deleted. i wasn't comfortable with that, so here i am!

Hi I am new to this forum. I live in DC. I am a private investigator and I just went raw fifteen days ago. I love the smoothies, juices that I juice and going raw has introduced me to a lot of foods that I NEVER EVER ATE. I don't eat meat of any kind, breads, sugars, etc. I just jumped into it. But you know I should have taken off a few pounds since starting, but I think I am either eating too much of something or not enough of something. My diet used to consist of nothing but carbs ... I didn't even eat meat and potatoes ... I was strictly one who ate anything with yeast in it.

What I do is go to google and put in words of things that interest me regarding eating raw. I think it is more about educating yourself, because as I noted no one really answers queries ... what do you think. I tell you what having a good juicer, blender and plenty of space for fruits and veggies in your frig is essential. Perhaps we should pick pen pals on this site to keep each other in sync so we don't consume no nos ... and network enough to give a helping hand to those newbies like us ... Whenever you post I will surely give you feedback where I know something about the subject matter ... got a great recipe for beets ... you will click your heels when you taste it ...

Hello!

I am new to this site. I have been off and on raw for 3 years. I decided that as long as I don't give up that makes me still on. I have 2 girls and my husband and an immune system that goes up and down. When I feel weak, sometimes I fast and sometimes I eat what is offered to me as I don't get up too often. Sometimes they offer something healthy, and sometimes not. I am hoping if I stick to it, they will eventually see the value for themselves. I know a mom who forced her family, but I don't have that kind of personality. I have to feel healthy to eat right and that kind of gets to me. I often take Dr. Schulz' #1 formula when I don't eat right in order to have a good bowel movement. This is a must. I also take digestive enzymes and a probiotic with cooked foods. Intestinal care is vital.

Dear I need this,
I woke up first thing this morning thinking about you and I thought I would reply more closely to your problem as we have a few things in common. We live in a rural area where we are trying to live the dream as well. The deer have eaten my strawberry patch, apple trees and some tomatoes. My husband is outside right now fortifying...
My name is Alli and I have been following raw health since I've had 6 pregnancies yet only 2 children; with health troubles it is hard to do anything. The best thing for you would be to find a colon health care practitioner in your area. Here in the southland, we have tons of those...This would be assuming there is one and assuming you have the means to pay someone to help you. If there is not, I recommend that you check out Dr. Schulz on the net. He has formulas #1 and #2 for bowel health. I have done these myself. For books read Bernard Jensen and Norman Walker, classic authors who lived what they preached. If you can get an enema device of some kind or the colema board, you will probably get faster relief. You said your body is falling apart, but actually your body is trying to save you from yourself. You need to do carrot juice with spinach. Some people recommend doing 8 oz. carrot one hour and then wheatgrass or another green drink the next hour. You need flax seed as a daily staple to your diet. Hallelujah Acres is a christian health ministry with a lot of free support. If christianity offends you, they are light on it, so you might be able to take it anyway. But they have are Bible based. They have a free newsletter, free e-mail newsletter and when you buy from them you contribute to their research which you can access from their website. They have testimonies of other people with your problem which are pretty brief but sometimes tell what they did to get better.
If it were me, I would not trust any regular doctor with this kind of problem. Their methods for digestive disorders are dangerous! But what you have is also serious...from other people's testimonies I gather that you will never be able to go back to SAD eating even after you get your health back from a good diet without serious and immediate side effects.
If all you have is the money for a Champion juicer, than start juicing first, although that is not the ultimate juicer, it will last you until you die. Juice and bowel cleansing and blood pH maintenance. You must not eat anything addicting like sugar, white flour, caffeine, meat, etc. Serve your family potatoes with salad, brown rice with salad, grilled vegetables with salad, healthy cooked items with salad and serve the salad first. If they appreciate how sick you are they will come along to help you. I hope I hear back from you, I really want to know how you are doing!
