New and probably need an adoptive mother of sorts..

Hi. My name's Ashley and I live in Southern California, and would really like to feel better overall.. Here, I'll copy what I posted in another forum:

"So, I randomly decided about a week ago that okay, I was going to try the raw food diet. My reason being that I have been sicker than ever these last few months and have been basically averaging one or two days of school a week since February (I have a bad thyroid and probably an adrenal problem and looots of other things).

I've been a vegetarian since November, decided to go organic as much as possible about a week after (right down to soaps and things), and that has been the only thing that has made me feel better, so I thought I'd try this. I'm 14, turning 15 in August. I take vitamin supplements and enzymes and things." (I was getting this really odd, painful headaches only being cured by a slice of cheese and yeah..)

I really need some help though. My parents don't want to buy a juicer or dehydrator, but our oven does go down to 100 degrees, but I'm not sure what exactly to do with it (Do I still need teflex sheets?) so I've been sort of starving since I started this. What book would be the best to get in your opinion as well? I have one, but I don't think its that good..

Also, what recipes are good for a sort of picky teen? I am open to things, don't worry.

Sorry, I just really need help with this..

Don ??t starve! Most definitely don ??t starve. That ??s a bad idea. You don ??t need to try to make a dehydrator to be raw. I don ??t have one and I ??m still alive! (like 3 years). Ashley is a pretty name by the way. Just starting eating fruits and veggies until you ??re full. Once you ??re full, stop eating lol. That ??s what I do. Just don ??t starve. You can become skinny enough on this diet lol. I liked David Wolfe ??s Sunfood Diet book but I don ??t have a whole lot to compare to. I would definitely bug your parents until you got a juicer or buy one yourself because they are really helpful. But buy a blender first if you don ??t already have one. Smoothies are very useful especially when you need a lot of calories. Sorry I couldn ??t be more help.

lol thanks

I should've been more clear, sorry. I'm not purposely starving or anything, don't worry. The fruit and veggies thing is what I've been doing, we need to buy more though I think..

yeah buy lots! And make sure you feel good. I think feeling crappy to "detox" is a dumb idea. Sure you'll feel weird, poop a lot and get hungry but you shouldn't feel sick that's just a dumb idea. Maybe if I were an old person it might be like that but you shouldn't feel bad ever I don't think. I stick with the 3 main food groups. Fruit, Veggies and stuff with fat in it (ex. avocadoes, young coconuts). I eat a lot of fruit because I'm a runner and veggies just don't do it for me. I juice my veggies but not all of them. and I like avocadoes. Sometimes I eat a lot of them and sometimes I don't eat any. I try not to make my eating habits feel like a job (like feeding the dog) because then it just gets boring and I don't know it feels like rules and I just don't like rules. I hope you have a rawesome time. Who coined that word? Do I owe money now? lol. Alex did you come up with that? I think that's wear I first saw it.
