Just to Say Hello

I'm very new to forums & very shy to be doing this, but I wanted some support to start this new life & so here I am.

I'm from Indiana, but am now living in Toronto. I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) about 1 1/2 yrs ago, but have known though there was something wrong for about 4 yrs. MCTD is a type of arthritis that mimics other things like Lupus & RA. Mine mainly mimics RA. I have Rheumatoid nodules near & on all my joints, I have Reynauds, my hands are extremely weak & they swell & hurt most times. I don't really tell people about this & I'm good at hiding it. I have refused meds, because I don't think that's the answer, esp when all I get from the doc is 'I don't know' & 'this may work.'

I have not become completely raw yet. I got started & was almost there, but have backslid a bit. I'm having some marital issues & seem to be addicted to cooked food.

I feel like I'm whining to y'all, but I know this is right for me. I know this is what I need & want, but I am having struggles on figuring out how to start. I live with my inlaws & though I know a lot about nutrition, I get in my ear how I wouldn't get enough nutrients, etc., so I guess that gives me fear because I am anemic. I had to have a blood transfusion last Nov, because my blood got down to 67 according to the tests.

Sorry this is long; its just not something I talk about & I just feel I need a new direction in my life, so here I am telling strangers stuff I don't even tell to many of the people close to me. I appreciate these boards & what you do for people who need support, like me. Thank you for being patient & reading this & have a lovely day.

I have been studying the work of Robert O. Young and what I have read on his articles of health is promising. Avocado's could possible eliminate anemia from what I have read.

Thank you for that. I have been doing a lot of studying up on what foods are good for the problems I have. I will definitely study up on him. I had been eating a lot of avocados in the past, but got tired of them, but the craving for them has been coming back recently.

There are so many different things to do with avocado's. I did just post a recipe for a pudding. If you need any other suggestions just let me know. Robert O. Young has something called, "articles of health" on the web that I check out frequently. He also has a free newsletter on his website.

I will definitely check out that pudding recipe. I'm looking for new recipes anyway, so thank you.
