I'm so tired

I'm so tired! I've been 80-90% raw for about 4/5wks now. I'm loving it, it's hard at times but I'm finding 10.30 - 2ish very hard. I'm so tired and just want to sleep but can't due to demands of life. I start off every day with a big mug of lemon and water, followed by a pint of veg juice consisting of broc, spinach, beetroot, sprouts, carrotts, and an apple. Lunch is a good green salad or a green smoothie. Snacks are fruit or nuts and dried fruit. Dinner is another big salad with avacado or seed pate etc. Because this is all new I'm worrying that 'am I doing myself some harm', am I being stupid, am I getting the right nutriants, vitamins etc etc. I've had a niggling pain in my right hand side today just above my pelvis, what is this, why does it hurt? Is it my fault?

It could be a couple of things. One is that you could still be detoxing. Another could be that you're getting a sugar crash.

I cannot eat things like beets or carrots (among other things) because I get a nice sugar high, but then a crash later, which not only tires me out, but also affects my mood.

Try taking the fruits out of your morning juice (lemon with water is OK) and see how that does. Also, I find that I do best with fruits as an afternoon pick me up, so I have berries at that time.

Another thing could be a food combining issue, as differeent enzymes are needed to digest veggies vs. fruits, and they digest at different rates. Generally fruit should be consumed on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after eating veggies. If you have to eat them at the same time (though not ideal), you should eat the fruit first.

Are you eating the same thing every day? It really is good to mix things up and get a wide variety of produce. I like the book Rawsome! by Birgitte Mars as it lists all the nutrients we need and what foods have them. I use that as a guide to make sure I'm getting all my nutritional bases covered, trying to eat something from each category at least a couple times a week.

I find superfoods help a lot. I really love using Pure Synergy, a green superfood blend, which is really nutrient-dense. It also has a lot of vitamin B-12, and you might be missing that from your diet. I find I need to take some Pure Synergy every few days or I just don't feel right. I'm working to get everything balanced from whole foods, but in the meantime, it sure does help.

Your body deserves rest and sleep so make time for it. If you are trying to heal something going on, sleep is imperative. Don't take it for granted! Go to bed an extra hour early or take a long nap! You will be glad you did!
