Nuts hi im new and im scaaaaaaaaared

helloooo!!!!

ok i've been researching this lifestyle for probably 6 months or so??? and it makes perfect, total sense, totally totally reasonable and attainable, everything. im frankly scared to try, scared of failing, scared of what ppl will say....they already think i'm a little off so i guess it won't be that awful for them to think i'm a little weirder. and then i think whyyyyy do i care about anything other ppl think of me, its just an excuse, maybe i'm just lazy and blaming other things???? im also scared to be beautiful because of my looooovely baggage...but is that also an excuse for laziness???? i happen to know someone who has written books about this, she attends my church, and witnessed her transformation not knowing at the time how she was achieving it. i really have no REAL barriers to doing this other than my ownself. i'm a nut maybe? were any of ya'll scared?? i don't know whether to eeeease into this or just empty my kitchen out right now. btw i have 4 kids and my business is making cinnamon rolls/cookies/cakes etc....is there something out there, a mantra or something anyone can recommend for me to repeat to my brain to get over my own self?????? i need help! or something! thanks ya'll..................nicole

Hi smoothyme, I really can relate to and understand your fear. When I began raw I was very afraid of losing weight. I was afraid of living to my full potential because I was afraid of what changes that might mean for me. Does that sound like what you're feeling?

I think too often we live our lives governed by fear. If you really want to go raw, you need to find a positive place of love where it is coming from. I eat raw because I love myself and I want the foods I eat to love me as much as I love them. I think if you can't find a place of positivity to draw energy from, it is going to be really difficult to remain raw.

Some people choose to go 100% overnight, a la Alissa Cohen's 30-day challenge, where she encourages people to try to be 100% for 30 days. Others try to transition slowly, incorporating more and more raw foods until they are comfortable. The easiest thing to do for your digestive system is to eat two raw meals a day (breakfast and lunch) and then eat cooked for dinner. For me, i went 100% right away but had some slipups. I ate a lot of gourmet type foods at first and mock things but now I eat much more simply.

I found that when you go raw you find things about yourself that you might of not wanted to know such as the fear thing you were talking about. Everybody is a little bit different in the way they transition. Since you've got other people in your house I wouldn't clean out your kitchen just yet. I think lucky_rainboq's plan seems pretty good but I would just take the first step and feel it out. If you start to feel really good than keep going but if it is too much than slow down a little bit.

I hope I helped!
