Idea I am not committed but very interested

I have not decided to make the step towards raw. I have many concerns. I am afraid of feeling tired or weak. Does this happen? I am an athlete and I do not want this to have a poor effect on my body. I run atleast 6 miles a day and I want to have enough energy to do this. Any suggestions?

Hi
I have been eating a vegan diet for almost 10 years and I do physical work and I am a runner. I am up to about 35 miles a week. I have been eating raw for about a month and when I'm not I notice the food doesn't have the life I like now. Its wierd how you eat one way and feel its good but then you start to get a feeling like there s a better way - so you try it And when you go back to what you used to eat its not good anymore!
I think raw is a great way to eat and I am still strong ( just finishing the Hood to Coast relay). I say try it. I am not sure I will handle working out in rthe cold this year though. Any one have suggestions? Recipes?
thanks, Richard

Hey Richard, good job!

Well I have noticed the days that I am 100% raw, my body temperature stays warm. I am in Sydney and it is still winter. Plus if I get cold, I just more layers of clothes on.

If you're least bit concerned about your energy levels just start out slow. Add some raw foods and see how you feel. You don't have to go 100% raw overnight. Most people say that if they ease into raw they just feel better and better, more and more energy, no matter how much exercise they do.... but only your own body can tell you what's good for it.

RWG - as for staying raw in winter. It's still August so I refuse to talk about that now! But we talked a lot about it last winter so you could search the site - or check back in November or December and we can get into it in detail. It's not hard really. If done properly - raw can keep you warmer.

How great that y'all are taking such good care of yourself and exercising.

Smile I just started trying to be committed

I love the food so far, I don't know if I could totally go raw but I guess a little at a time. I already eat organic, and I still enjoy my meat from time to time. Oh yes my name is bornagain.
