How many meals a day?

Hey, raw foodies:

Since I am new to raw, how many meals should you eat in a day? I eat a meal then in a few minutes I am either still hungry or starving.

Any suggestions.

in the begining i was like that too, always hungry.
give it a little time and your body will adjust, atleast mine did.

i only eat when i'm hungry, which is about 2 times a day, with maybe and apple or banana or trail mix as a snack.

It's really comon to want to eat almost constantly when you first start until you adjust. Eat whenever and whatever raw food you want. If you are hungry a half an hour or even five minutes later I would eat if your circumstances allow.

I tend to eat several times a day... usually 6..... although that can change at times. 6 is what I shoot for. I'd rather eat 6 meals consisting of a couple of bites than one or two meals in a day. But different things work for different people, and as long as you are eating mostly raw, you should listen to your body.

I've become accustomed to drinking a smoothie in the morning, and usually that takes me awhile to drink. So I sip on it for a couple of hours, and then sometimes I am not hungry until after noon. Then I'll eat small amounts of food for the rest of the day. I find that if I don't eat a meal around 6, then I am not hungry for anything but another smoothie and some tea. I don't know why, but my body seems to be happy right now!

I think we get prgrammed not to eat when we are hungry, simply because we don't know what hungry feels like. As adults, we don't get hungry, we eat when we think we should eat, or when we have a craving. With raw living, it's a totally different process and way of eating. I know i had to reprogram myself.

I wouldn't limit myself in the beginning or put too much pressure on waiting in between meals at first. It gets a lot easier later on to eat 2-3 bigger meals a day and stay away from grazing, if that is what you want to do.

I personally think it is healthier in the long run to allow the stomach to empty out so the body's energy can be freed up to work on other things going on.

That is just my own opinion and experience though. I do agree that in the beginning I just want to eat all the time (I've had a lot of beginnings to know ) . After a while you'll be able to eat more at one sitting.

Yeah I eat when I am hungry.. Sometimes after eating something I am not sure if am full, so either I will eat something more or wait awhile and then eat.
