Greens (I blend them with fruit in a smoothie as well as eat them), a few nuts and plenty of sprouts. I think that most people on a modern diet get too much protein, which when not utilized turns into fat.

There is protein in all veggies. I was reading that eating raw food one only needs half the RDA of protein because it is more fully digested. So instead of 70g cooked that is recommended, most folks only need about 35 raw.

I was just reading a book which lists all the foods that have all 8 essential amino acids (complete proteins):

Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Clover blossoms, most fruit, Garbanzo beans, leafy green vegetables, Lentils, Millet, Mung Beans, Nuts (except hazelnuts or filberts) Pumpkin Seeds, Quinoa, Sesame Seeds, Soy Foods, and Sunflower Greens.

Other good sources are:

Apricots, Avocado, Bananas, Beans, Berries, Blue-Green Algae, Broccoli, Brussles sprouts, Cabbages, Carrots, Cauliflower, Cherries, Coconut. Corn, Cucumbers, Dates, Durians, Eggplant, Grapes, Hemp seeds, Melons, Okra, Oranges, Papaya, Parsley, Peaches, Pears, Peas, Peppers, Spirulina, Sprouts (including sprouted grains), String beans, Summer Squash, Sun-cured olives, Sweet Potatoes., Tomatoes, Turnip greens, Watercress, and Zucchini.

As Sundancer does, I focus a lot on getting a wide variety of leafy greens (including but especially spinach - dandelion greens and kale are great too), sprouts, and a few nuts and seeds. But I eat all kinds of things mentioned above.

I know I had a problem craving beef, but once I started eating at least 1 cup of spinach daily I no longer had that problem. I feel very nutritionally balanced.

if you have a vegan raw food diet such as i, than i think sprouted beans are an excellent source of protein as they are low in fat, nuts and seeds are also really high in protein but also in fat, they would be a perfect food it they are your only source of fat

If you are eating a raw food diet that includes animal products, i would say that raw fish is a great source of protein and is low in fat. they also have omega 3s.

Contrary to a lot of cooked propaganda, plant aminos are complete and efficient for *any* body to make proteins out of. Think of the many animals that are strong and yet vegetarian - apes, elephants, hippos, oxen - they don't make protein from within, but from the plant food they consume.

Plant food is far more of an efficient vehicle for making protein. Animal food may contain more protein but you are getting it not only cooked (denatured) but second hand.

Most raw foodists on a whole plant food diet get less than 10% of their calories from protein. If you get more than that, your fat intake will go up signifantly as nuts and seeds are higher than fat than protein. Greens and fruit have adequate protein for human needs.

Mother's milk has 2.7% protein. A human grows the fastest in such a short period of time when he is almost exclusively on his mother's milk. Fruit also has 2.7% protein on average.
