Smile hi everybody

greetings.

i'm pete, rawhippie's fiance.

i've been transitioning to an all raw diet for the past few months.
i recently upped my raw food intake, and this week is my first week @ 95-100% raw.

in the beginning of summer i weighed in @ 309lbs, this morning i'm 270lbs. (i'm 6'3") i really don't have a goal weight but i would guess 220-210 would be where i need to be.

since i started incorporating raw food into my diet i haven't been sick at all. i used to be sick all the time.

i had a hard time at first, back when rawhippie started, but i have finally "seen the light".

i look foward to sharing recipes and information with you all.

WELCOME PETE!!!!

Raw Hippie is awesome and we welcome you with open arms to the site.

Congratulations on your engagement too! What could be better than a raw couple?!

We can be your next layer of support. It sounds like you are doing great already.

Oh how I wish my hubbie wanted to do what you are doing. I've been hinting for 20 years now - but alas - no success. I actually don't even think raw food is the best diet for him anyway but it would be much easier for me if it were. I constantly have to constrain myself around his foods and drinks. It's like a constant temptation. It's going to be much easier for you since your partner is already dedicated.

Keep us posted on your progress, hop right into all the conversations and let us know if there is anyway we can be of assistance.

Welcome Pete!

Congrats on your healthier lifestyle. It sounds like you are on the right track, and like GB said, you and rawhippie are doing this together, which is awesome. I remind myself every day that my only goal is to be healthier than yesterday. So far so good! I've only been working on raw for a few weeks, but I feel better every day.

Again, welcome, and jump right in, we are a friendly bunch!

thanks for the warm welcome.

you guys are right though, it's alot easier when your significant other has already transitioned.
all the tools were already in place, all i needed to do was get excited and make food!

we spent alot of time making food this weekend.

I'm hoping my boyfriend will start eating more and more raw, although I don't see him doing it exclusively. He does open up the fridge and pull out various things.... like a young coconut. What is this? What do you do with it? What does it taste like? I answer all the questions, offer him something made with said raw object, and he politely declines and searches for the carnivore foods But at least he's supportive and interested, and once in awhile he'll surprise me and like something that I wouldn't have thought he would try.

It really is awesome that you guys are raw together, it's just one more thing you have in common!

What did you *not* cook this weekend?

Pattye and I are starting the master cleanse together and next week we are going to try to break the fast by going raw. I personally hope that we can start at 75 or 80 % raw but if we can't I am doing my homework so that we include only the best of the bad foods. HMMMM, only I would say that. But congratulations Pete, on Your weight loss.
I think I can give up the red meats cause I have done the Atkins thing and I am tired of meats and cheeses but it is the milk and cereal in the morning and as an evening snack that is going to be tough.

I was 100% vegan (and mostly Raw) when I met my boyfriend. He ate a relatively clean SAD (clean compared to most). I didn't push him or pressure him. I did NOT make him special meals, only the meals I made were vegan and mostly or all Raw. So, he ate those and loved them (since he didn't want to cook for himself).

Then, when we went out to eat, he'd usually have some meat...that is UNTIL he read The China Study. He did ask me questions over time (before reading that) so I knew he was curious and open to learning about it. I finally told him he should really read The China Study (it has that "extra science" that some people need). He did and it made all the difference to him.

Since he doesn't have to make his food (since I'm a Raw Chef), he just sits back and enjoys the Raw vegan lifestyle with me.

It's really exciting doing it with somebody...fun and easy.
