Hello

Hello,
I took a major turn a year ago with my health from eating whatever I wanted to and being 250 lbs with high blood pressure to where i am today, vegetarian,I now weigh 170 lbs, and I run 3 to 4 times a week about 10 to 12 miles. I just finished the master cleanse,I went 12 days and now I am going RAW. I have been setting up my kitchen for it, knives, new cutting board, etc and Im really excited to do it, the one thing I will cook is my beans in the crock pot, everything else will be RAW. Before the cleanse I was eating beans, veggies, and fruit, and organic wheat bread. I guess the bread is out because it is baked so no more bread right? My blood pressure is very good now and hasnt been high for some time now plus I feel terrific!! I have one more day of orange juice and then the fast will be complete and I have all thease incredible ideas for RAW consumption its exciting!! like the avacado salad dressing I was thinking about, 2 avacados,1 lime,1 lemon,a pinch of seasalt,1 tbsp olive oil put into a blender and walla!! mmmmmmm sounds so good after eating nothing for 12 days. I did the master cleanse to clean up and a fresh start so Im looking forward to using the site!1

Welcome!

Congrats on all of your accomplishments! It sounds like you have made some incredible changes and your journey to better health has been very positive. The avocado dressing sounds great! I actually make one with avodaco and OJ and a few spices.... I can't remember exactly, but I really like avocado based anything!

I'm starting a detox cleanse tomorrow, so it's good to hear people having success with them.

Welcome to the forum and jump on in!

Welcome!

Congratulations on your success.

I have a couple of suggestions: If one of the cooked foods you are going to keep in your diet is beans you might want to make sure that you soaked the beans over night first and rinse them well because of the enzyme inhibitors that get released into cooking water. You can search the word enzymes and read all sorts of discussions about that. Enzymes are my main reason for being raw and enzyme inhibitors are my evil foe. And then, you can take Beano enzymes which will help break down the beans since they are cooked.

My other suggestion would be to get celtic sea salt in that dressing instead of regular sea salt. Because it is hand raked from pristine waters and no minerals are extracted (sea salt has most of the most valuable minerals removed to be sold in pills) celtic sea salt has all the trace minerals in perfect balance that a person needs (at least according to my understanding and happy body when I eat it).

Best of Luck and hope to hear lots of comments from you on the site!
