Hi There,
I am in the process of switching to raw and the biggest obstacle is time, availabilty, and the society around us. It's almost like you have to surround yourself with other raw-foodists to fit in or not socialize with the usual crowd.

Thanks Rawbot Girl . That's helpful to know. I've decided to not focus on the weight so much or being 100%. I get to obsessed and then rebell against myself so, it's better if I'm gentle with myself in transitioning and from what you say it still works great!

Overeating when you first start out is very common. This is because your body is addicted to the FULL feeling. Cooked food takes a long time to digest: the stomach rarely gets a rest and is therefore used to being atleast semi-ful by the time it gets re-filled. When eating only raw foods, you will naturally digest them quickly (aka normally) and will feel this strange new emptiness that is not a weak hunger for nutrients, but rather a stretched out stomach which is feeling ... different. thus, you want to eat again, re-fill, re-fill, re-fill... Soon this emptiness and flatness will be what you look forward to. It is then that your body will really know when it needs food and not just a fill-up.

I would say this, along with picking at the acne that developed in the detox were my biggest hurdles

Thanks Mangome,

You don't know how helpful that was. How true it is that I was/am used to feeling heavy after I eat and Raw I feel lighter. I have noticed that I don't bloat after eating either.

Well, maybe I can train myself to be comfortable with this. Or I guess eventually I just will

My issue is that I love to cook. Not a chef material person but I do make some nice chili and a great carbonara. Is there a middle ground for Raw food dieting? Like maybe half raw and the other half of the food intake is cooked?

I'm a total noob so I really have to ask. Sorry!
