Know it all wants to know

Hey,

I've gotten good advice on diet before, and now I am moving to a new level- incorporating raw food...but there's one thing I need info on: food combining. I don't know anything about raw food combining. What's the best way to do it? Like how do I combine foods for a low fruit raw diet?

Bump. Good question, and does it even matter?

waaait a minute. low fruit raw diet? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO EAT THEN?? FRUIT IS THE MOST FANTASTIC THING IN THE WORLD!!! in my experience food combining does make a huge difference. generally if you stick to the broad guidelines (no proteins with starch, no fats and protein, no fruits and fat...i think those are the ones i find matter most) you should be fine. YOU CAN'T NOT EAT FRUIT THOUGH!!!!

Fruit eater here

I find that if I eat fruit at least twice a day I feel a lot more energized.
I am a certified Raw Food Chef and food combining seems to me to be a very individual thing. What one person combines may not be what the other one can tolorate. I mix nutbutter with smoothies all the time, I also make fruit salads with all kinds of fruit and have yet had any one get an upset stomach from it. I would not mix dairy with fruit because you are asking for a stomach ache then. Just go with what your gut tells you but do remember that fruit is a very important part of our diet for all over health

Question fruit is the friends

You get most of your energy from fruit calories. This is especially important during the day. You may come up short in the long run if you limmit this important step.

agreed. That's what Dr. Doug say's too. Who really knows though. He could be a fruitcake. I don't get the bulk of my cal's from fat because they make me feel slow and they're not that tastey as fruit and their volume doesn't seem to fill me up.

Fruit is actually very good for you. It's chock full of nutrients and it's very important that you get an adequate supply of your calories from fruit. For more info go to this website.

Fruit is not the best for everyone, however. I have type 2 diabetes and since I have become 100% raw, when I eat fruit my blood sugar skyrockets. Fruit is delicious, I love it, but I also believe it feeds a sugar addiction, after hearing a lecture by Brian Clement, director of the Hippocrates Institute. Yes, it is chock full of nutrients, but you CAN not eat fruit and still be raw.

hi, another raw non-fruiter here. YES I LOVE FRUIT, FRUIT IS ECSTACY...but right now I'm dealing with a Candida type of gut and ALL sugars are out of the question. in the short term it is hard but in the long run I know that next summer there is a nectarine and blueberry buffet waiting for me.
Sueko, I think that the longer you are on a whole food diet, your blood sugar should stabalize and you should be able to tolerate one to two pieces/day. In the mean time, have you tried having your fruit with protein to slow the sugar release or with cinnamon to stabalize the sugar? berries are probably best
