Cheesy there is fruit in the future

hi, another raw non-fruiter here. YES I LOVE FRUIT, FRUIT IS ECSTACY...but right now I'm dealing with a Candida type of gut and ALL sugars are out of the question. in the short term it is hard but in the long run I know that next summer there is a nectarine and blueberry buffet waiting for me.
Sueko, I think that the longer you are on a whole food diet, your blood sugar should stabalize and you should be able to tolerate one to two pieces/day. In the mean time, have you tried having your fruit with protein to slow the sugar release or with cinnamon to stabalize the sugar? berries are probably best

Hey Sueko and Slink,

20 years ago Slink I healed up my candida and Sueko, I helped my Mom and cousin heal from diabetes. In both cases the surprising thing is that fruit was not really a culprit - it was the processed sugars and the lack of nutrtion and lifeforce that were the real culprits. I was very surprised that with candida I could eat all the fruit I wanted as long as I ate absolutely no junk foods and my Mom can eat all the whole fruit she wants as long as it is balanced with good proteins and fats in proper proportions and soon enough after the fruit to stabilize blood sugars. Her smoothies have lots of protein and fat in the form of nutbutter in them. That being said, at the very beginning it makes a great deal of sense to start out more strict. You might be surprised however how fast you can get to add in fruit in your live food regimes if you want to.

I also have gone long periods with eating very little fruit when it is cold out. Fruit is cooling and very yin (if you understand Chinese medicine) and is harder on the body in winter. Too much fruit in winter can make you very cold and many live fooders have a much harder time in winter because they eat too much fruit - especially fruit right out of the fridge. So even a fruit lover like me can choose not to eat fruit on a raw diet. It is very possible and very easy.

As for food combining and raw foods: most of the problems arise with mixing fruits and nuts so you should have it very easy if you aren't eating fruits. Nuts, seeds and veggies all go well together as do the foods that are really fruits but most people think of as veggies such as tomatoes and squashes. Avocadoes also combine well with these categories. You are home free with food combining. Adding fruit is a whole other conversation.
