Weird How can I replace fast food??

Hi there all! I have been trying to go raw for the past couple of months, but after a few days I get tired of the food. I am a fast-food junkie and am desperately trying to find easy, tasty raw replacements. I have tried to make some raw recipes and none have tasted good. Any advice?/ Thanks!

When people eat junk food after a while they actually ruin their taste buds and get so addicted to processed sugar, fat, salt and preservatives that they can't even tell when something really tastes good. This might have happened to you. My suggestion would be to start with the deserts and smoothies. Make raw foods that are sweet that use lots of nuts and seeds and celtic sea salt. You might want to start off by having just a smoothie to start off with. Here is a great transition smoothie that tastes so good that even a junk food junkie can't deny that it tastes good:

In a blender put a banana
some blueberries & strawberries
you can also add pinapple, mango or peach and it will still taste good.
Then put in almond butter or peanut butter. It should be the kind that you get from health food stores that don't add any oil. This adds the fat that you are used to and the fruit takes care of your sugar addiction. You can add a tablespoon or two or more. It's better than junk food.

You can also add things like a little flax oil or some fresh raw bee pollen which is sweet and makes it taste even better but these aren't essential.

Have one of these kinds of smoothies a day to help your body get some nutrition and heal and cut out the thing that you eat that you know is the worst thing that you eat. For instance a good one would be sodas or fast food milkshakes. Sodas are carbon and acid - two things that are absolute poisons to the human body.

This will start you on the process.

Then, when you eat your junk food add greens on it. Keep on adding more and more greens to your big mac. Go to the supermarket and get box of baby greens and pile them on your big mac (or whatever you eat).

Start just adding more raw foods and wean yourself off the junk slowly. It very well could take many years. Nothing will taste good to you except toxins until you figure out a way to get yourself away from them. You are like an alcoholic or drug addict that has lost his taste or desire for real food. A child that has never had processed sugar will spit it out when given it. It took a long time for your body to get so confused. It's up to you to either eat things you don't like anyway because you know that it's best for you or trick yourself into getting back to a healthy state. It is possible.

If you want more help deciding which thing you eat that is the worst - just tell me what your normal diet is. I then could help you figure out more ways of adding or adapting your existing diet.

Good Luck
Greenbunny

Thanks for the advice, greenbunny! I will try that smoothie you recommended. I have tried to go raw a few times, but I seem to always be hungry and get sick of salads pretty quickly. I have several books on the subject and have tried recipes but they don't taste very good. I will try to slowly incorporate more veggies in things I eat, like you suggested. I usually eat chicken sandwiches and bean burritos when I eat fast food. They taste so good, and I hate that I say that! I will give this another try. Thanks for the advice!!!
