I agree with DoubleHelix, at least a quart of smoothie should be enough to sustain you through to the next meal. Sometimes that goes beyond the next meal time for me. Plus smoothies are great for using up produce, I find I am throwing way, way less out because we are using it more quickly.

I would like to know if putting soy protein in your smoothie is good or not. Could anyone give me advice on that? I would sure appreciate any help.
I have been really trying and feel I am failing. I gained weight Maybe, I should'nt put the soy protein in my smoothies. Is it important to have portion control?

Thank you for any help
Jen

Hi Jen,

Currently I am using hemp protein, more to appease the hubster as we are all working out. I don't believe we need to purposely eat protein for our bodies to manufacture it, we get it from our fresh plants.

This video explains it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae-dlHOmwk4

After my hemp protein runs out, I'm sticking with fresh greens in my smoothies.

Hi Double Helix,

Thank you......... I enjoyed that and many other videos.

Do you think I need to watch my portions?

You should eat until you are satisfied, the only time you might want to watch your portions is if you are eating something that you know isn't health promoting like too many fats or dehydrated foods, etc.

Otherwise I don't see why you can't eat until you are happy and full. As long as you are hungry, you should eat. Of course, not to confuse hunger with cravings (addiction).

I don't know if I truely know when I'm full yet. That is another thing I will work on.

Thank you

Big red - I'd go with the VitaMix. I got mine at a very reasonable price off ebay.

I love filling my green smoothies with spinach, kale, and sprouts. I also like to add so supperfoods such as spirulina, bee pollen, flax seeds, and my favorite maca!
