Hi bekuchan!
Yes, i have others to consider feeding. There is another thread somewhere here that I say that I still make cooked food for my family.... which had some people surprised! I love to cook, and now "uncook" food, so it isn't much of a problem for me. I still eat some cooked food, but I make things for my family that I don't eat. I find that some things I can sneak into their diet and they don't realize it, other things I just eat and they ask for it, or I offer it, or whatever. I think it's easier for me because I've always been a bit of a "crunchy" in terms of our food choices. I make as much as i can from scratch, and we have never eaten the typical diet that most people do. I also find that if I force foods they will turn their noses up, but if I just provide food that looks, smells, and tastes good, they will eat it.
I've never made food an issue with my kids, I just make sure they have plenty of good foods to eat. I have 3 children, ages 16, 14, and 13. The 16 year old recently went to live with his dad, so I don't feed him daily anymore. They don't eat well there, but i can't do anything about that. My boyfriend has a pretty good diet, although he's a big meat eater. He doesn't eat junk food, and is willing to try just about everything I put in front of him. He was too thin (unhealthy) when i met him, and put on 15 pounds in the first year we were together. Now he's normalized his weight and is in a healthy range and doesn't get as sick as he used to. My kids are healthier than most teenagers. I know that the younger you introduce them to a healthy diet, the more likely they are to embrace it. Although that can also work against you as they tend not to want processed food once you've gotten them used to the good stuff. The first time I bought spaghetti sauce in a jar and served it they all turned their noses up. I assured them people all over the world ate it and it wouldn't kill them. They insisted that it smelled funny. So if you get them used to REAL food, they may not go back!
I didn't jump right into raw eihter, i have taken it slow. It works for me very well, and I don't feel "pressured" to eat from a certain list. I just eat the things that make me feel good, and aid in my healing.
My new doctor was pretty good. Not as good as my chiropractor, who is extremely supportive and holistic. My general practitioner was pretty supportive of my going raw, although he said I didn't have to be so.... I think the word was puritanical.... to be healthy

He wasn't being negative or anything, it was pretty funny! He has a nurse practitioner who is extremely holistic, and wants me to see her in a few weeks, once i get my chiropractic care going so that I'm healing. Most practitioners won't diagnose fibromyalgia, nevermind agree that you should use holistic approaches to healing. So I'm pretty comfortable with this doctor and he is supportive of my beliefs.
Ok, time to watch the World Series... GO SOX!!!!!

That's my experience, although there are others that have different ways of going about it. You have to do what works best for you and your family.
