That is another big issue to be discussing on a message board. A lot of that depends on the kinds of dreams that you have and how you relate to them now. It depends on how far along the path you are.
I find that when I am lucid dreaming that I can approach that which I might not want to inside myself and deal with it directly no matter how scary it is because I know that I am dreaming. That way I don't have to manifest such learning in 3 dimensions which is so much slower and more difficult to move through.
Let me try to give you an example. The last time that I lucid dreamed I came upon something that was really a scary and which in real life I would have run from with all my might, but knowing that I was dreaming I was able to put out my hands and send beams of light into the image/creature dissolving it into oneness.
I'll give you another example. For years I had a recurrent dream about being harrassed by a very strong cartoonish kind of strong man. I would punch and punch him but my fists would just go into him like rubber. Finally, one day I was lucid dreaming and he showed up. I was able to think to myself, "hey I'm dreaming, this is a part of myself that I am fighting!" So instead of punching I consciously went up to the character and hugged him. He disappeared and never returned again.
Here's another example. Once when I was lucid dreaming I was flying through one of the most beautiful scenes imaginable in the high mountains. It was a dream about my evolution. It gave me a sense in my body and permanently etched in my mind the nature of what I was trying to achieve and the glory of it. At times when I get lonely to be like others I remember that dream and the ecstacy of being on this path even if it does get lonely some times.
Another example that is many experiences rolled into one description. Many times when I am lucid dreaming I go up to characters and even objects and ask them directly what they symbolize in my dream. They answer. I get a deeper understanding of myself.
I also will ananlyze my dreams in my dreams. This is very useful because I wake up knowing the importance of this particular dream since I took the time analyze it more than once and I wake up with understanding.
I also can tell myself when a dream is psychic.
I can work on issues I have consciously in my dreams.
I can go back to sleep and ask myself to lucid dream on the dream I just had so that I can work through an issue within my dream. I can wake up and go back to sleep many times and have the same dream working away at a new outcome or a better understanding.
If I am conscious and working on something for myself or for another person I consciously understand what I am being shown and change something in my waking state.
I soul travel for other people in lucid dreams. I have helped dead relatives on the other side. I learn things for other living people on the other side that can help them with their lives. I do healings that help people while lucid dreaming. I learn about what is going to happen with the collective and work to change that both in the dream state and in waking states.
Here's probably the biggest gift of lucid dreaming. When you have experienced a lucid dream you start to understand that what you think is reality isn't necessarily reality. What we live in in our dreams seems real but is a product of our minds. This same understanding can be translated into a thought/feeling process about our every day waking life.
Well, that's enough for now.
