Complex question...Candida, parasites, hypoglycemia, pancreas pains
Hi!
I'm new to this forum. I found it looking for low glycemic raw food diet information.
I found one low gylcemic thread here and I'm hoping to get a few more insights. Sorry if my question gets a bit long.
First off, I'm a firm believer in muscle testing/kinesiology. It's helped me overcome several layers of health issues. I'm becoming convinced that my health problems are candida and parasite related as I'm continually testing positive for them. It feels like no matter how strict I get with my lifestyle changes, something is still sucking the energy from me.
I have done quite a bit of parasite and candida cleansing over the years all of which have helped me maintain a certain level of existance, but so far I have not eliminated this problem. I've been on one parasite cleanse program for a full year. I've recently been told of another program, and so I'm going to try it for the next 90 days.
This past year, I got sick with the flu and since that time I have been struggling with hypoglycemia and pains in my pancreas.
I have given up refined sugar and processed foods. However, I am still bothered by some fruits. Most days I can get away with eating apples, but sometimes even they can cause me to be aware of the slightest inflammation in my pancreas.
I am not one that likes to spend time in the kitchen so I struggle to find things I can make for myself that won't contribute to feeding candida and parasites. Plus, my pancreas is so sensitive.
It seems strange to me that my diet is the best it has ever been and certain health issues seem more extreme now than ever. The parasites seem to be benefitting from the nutrition I'm feeding them. When I quit taking anti-fungal and parasitic herbs the symptoms I experience get worse.
I'm very confused about what to eat. Some raw foodists promote nuts and good fats and others don't. It is very hard for me to only eat greens. Right now the only foods that don't seem to make my pancreas hurt are meat, greens, nuts (I'm eating mostly roasted almonds in sea salt as these are the most satisfying for me), and very few fruits.
Does anyone here have experience with any of these issues? (candida, parasites, hypoglycemia, pancreas pains)
Thanks for any and all insights.
Smiles,
Kelly

welcome. You're in the right place.
Rawfoodgrl, Double Helix and I are having quite a conversation on just those topics under the "Transitioning and Newbie" (at least I think that's the name) forum below. There is also a thread under "Lifestyles" with a name something "like low and high glycemic fruits". These are active conversation happening right now so hop on in!
You might also want to look at the thread "Oh nuts!" for a long conversation about "seeds" in general (including nuts) and what people had to say about soaking/sprouting and whether to include them at all.
It sounds like you are dealing with some serious issues that some people here are also going through. You're in the right place. We all have been chatting away exactly upon the issues that concern you. We'd love to hear any comments, concerns, experiences or suggestions that you might have. The more that join in on the conversations the better. The issues you brought up are of vital importance to many raw foodists.

Hi Greenbunny,
I did see the one thread originally. I'm not finding the other you mentioned.
I see the one thread brings up the fat debate. I am aware that Dr. Graham talks about fat and candida. I may have to check into his information again. I was hoping to find someone that perhaps had a testimonial with overcoming hypoglycemia, candida or parasites.
Thanks for the direction.
Smiles,
Kelly

They both refer to Dr. Graham. Which site did you see and which one are you missing so that I can direct you.
There are testimonials that you wish for on this site. Perhaps you need to use the search engine to search more or different key words.
In one of those threads I talked about my own journey in winning the battle against the "yeastie beasties" (canadida).
I'm assuming that you haven't seen Rawfoodgrl's original post in a section that is lower down on the list of forums for beginners. If this is the one you can't find I'll try to explain to you again in different wording where it is.

Under the section "Raw Food Community" which contains the "Suggestions" forum (in which you started this thread). Go to the section below (the sections are in the orange background) called "Raw Food Diet Forums". The third forum down is "Transitioning/Raw Newbies". The thread that Rawfoodgrl started is in this forum and is called "What Do I Eat?"
Whew, I can't get any more specific than that! Can't wait to hear your thoughts there!

Hi Kahoff,
I am glad you asked and glad to pipe in. I was diagnosed in january with 5 different types of bacterial/parasitic infections in my gut as well as a fungal growth (rhodoturola) similar to candida.
interestingly in the past when i did low carb type of diets i would suddenly feel incredibly well and then when i went off all of my symptoms would return. incredible fatigue, weight gain etc
i had been vegetarian/vegan for 15 years eating lots of carbs, drinking lots of beer
once i started eating meat my energy returned for the first time since i was a teenager.....and i saw a whole new level of possibility open up
because of my whole food ways, raw has been easy to adopt except the protein/meat thing
and after experimenting with being veggie raw all summer i am now eating 100% raw EXCEPT for a serving of meat 3-7 times a week
in terms of treating the infections some things have been critical
NO FRUIT, i tried this summer and it wasn't horrible, ididn't get the psychological trip i used to get but i did get fat and i did get a yeast infection
I use a high potency OIL OF OREGANO called ADP by biotics research company, a product called CANDIACIN by seroyal company and a product i just started that i give to all of my patients with glycemic issues....GLUCOBALANCE also by biotics research oooooooooh and liquid colloidal silver seemed to help ALOT
i found this summer with no meat i would need A LOT of nuts to compensate for protein and it was just too calorie and fat dense for me
and i could only eat plain raw cashews, which aren't actually raw
ANYWAY, i am going to do another stool test in january and see where i am at.. i really want to heal and i know that raw is helping
i have a friend who used to live on pangai a raw fod land group in hawaii where they eat all sorts of raw meat etc and i would do that here if i had a compadre to try it with or more confidence in what i was doing
in the mean time meat and greens and flax oil, meat and greens and flax oil.....
good luck

Hey Slink, thanks so much for telling your story!
I'm curious about one of the products that you mentioned: glucobalance. Could you describe it a little more. Living with the my two "sugar challenged" loved ones I'd like to hear more.
I met someone recently that does eat raw beef but only from a farm that he trusts. That's gotta be intense! But hey, I eat raw fish so who am I to comment!?
Do you do raw fish and eggs slink? I'd imagine that those things would have a similar blood sugar stabilization affect as the meat you eat.
With raw fish it can be a challenge to get enough. Going to a Japanese restaurant just doesn't cut it. I would have to spend a small fortune to get enough to eat. I have to buy it in chunks or go to the steak house to get ahi tuna to get my fill.
I was able to get rid of candida on a vegan diet, but my blood sugars weren't an issue. It takes more thought and care fer sure when vegan than eating meat. Colloidal silver helped me a lot too back then. Great stuff. You just have to apparently be a little careful with how much you take as I told someone I knew about it that was suffering with yeast infections and she started to turn colors or something. I don't remember exactly what that deal was. It was so long ago. It's probably a good idea to research the stuff before going to town with it. I've taken a lot of it and have had no ill effects, but everyone's different.
Hey, please remember to tell us what your results are in January! Good luck with it!
