Thumbs up Need Suggestions

Hi fellow rawfoodists,

I've met some people in my community who want to go raw and they have asked me for some books to help them make the transition from cooked to raw foods. Unfortunately, I don't know which ones are good as when I made the switch a few years ago I just switched. Any suggestions? Much appreciated!

the 4 books i purchased when i went raw are:

1-raw: the uncook book by juliano
2-the raw food gourmet by gabrielle chavez
3-the raw gourmet by nomi shannon
4-living cuisine by renee lous underkoffler
and i always purchase the latest issue of
living nutrition.
I REFER TO THESE BOOKS EVERY SINGLE DAY! I HAVE THEM ON THE DINING ROOM TABLE AND PICK THEM UP AND JUST OPEN ANYWHERE AND STOP READING. THEY INSPIRE ME ENDLESSLY. THEY ME FEED MY INNER RAW-COOK.

all great books aside, one of the most powerful stay-raw tools for me is attending teleseminars. mike snyder (rawdiet.com) has truly awesome ones!

not really raw, per se, is the healthywealthynwise series - they keep me on the right track in general to follow my passions, so naturally, that means a raw lifestyle for me.

and then whatever events, potlucks, seminars, festivals you can get yourself to.

and of course this fabulous website we are on now.

and finally, keep surfing the net. it's amazing what links can lead to!

I'm just at the end of my first week myself, but I've read a couple of good books already during my researching.

One is Raw Family by the Boutenkos. It's a short, but informative, book that I read in one sitting. I'll be picking one up when I can afford it - I just got it out of the library for now.

Another is Angela Stokes's e-book, Raw Reform. You can get it on her website www.rawreform.com. Her journey started with healing compulsive overeating, so there is advice about overcoming that as well, but also good information about transitioning to raw. It only costs $10 to download and it's worth it.

There's a ton of good information on Frederic Patenaude's website - http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/

I have four books that I want to pick up someday soon to add to Raw Reform (I just moved to a new city and I'm still job hunting so I don't have extra money for books right now). I think these will be the right foundation for my chosen focus under the raw path onto greens and away from the gourmet foods:

1. Green For Life ~ Victoria Boutenko
2. Raw Family ~ Boutenko family
3. The Raw Secrets ~ Frederic Patenaude
4. Instant Raw Sensations ~ Frederic Patenaude
