Organic Garden

Does anyone here have a garden? I wish I had enough room to grow wild greens and other edibles.

yeah i share a plot at a community garden here in long beach, ca. it is 10ft by 30ft. i share it with two very nice ladies. we have a few wild greens that volunteer and we leave them be. i have been enjoying the malva more than the early spring mix we have growing. it has so many different things growing it would be hard to list. a slew of culinary and medicinal herbs, greens like chard and dino kale, tomatoes, squash, beets, black radish, salad greens, roamine, celery, sunflowers, okra, dandalion that doesnt seem to flower, leeks, on and on... very enjoyable, i recommend getting people together to start a community garden. luckly the wild oats natural foods store bought the land as a community service so the plots are very inexpensive. much love to my garden. it is nice to be able to eat food that you planted, the taste is superior as well. i hope to start using ocean grown or em's soon. what is your thinking on those garden supporters?

I would love to plant a garden, believe or not I have never done this so I really don't know how. I'm sure everyone is thinking how easy it is but how do you get started? We do have plenty of room so I could do a pretty large one. Help with when, where and how would be great! P.S. Do I need to get organic soil to start with or just use what's already in the ground? I am laughing as I am writing this post because it's sounds like it should be so easy to know how to start a garden but I really have no idea!!

I really wish I could join you Val in newbe garden planting, I dream about it. But, alas, I currently reside in an apartment! I wish you the best of luck with it.
Two free books online http://www.remineralize.org have valuable information in them about soil, rock dust, and lots of stuff

Heather, I grow my vegetables in pots on the patio. This year I grew tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and parsley. They have all been doing really well and there's even beginning to be a few baby tomatoes!

I'm starting a huge garden in a field back in my yard as a project for Remineralized The Earth.
http://www.remineralize.org/

The project is to take rock dust and adding it too the soil in one pack of the garden, then another type of rock dust in another and then leave one part of the garden with out the rock dust and record the progress. And as a plus I get great organic vegetables and herbs.

I have a small garden (about 10X10)

This year, I have several varieties of salad greens, many types of tomatoes, and lots of herbs. I have grown other things in the past, but I didn't want a huge commitment this year. I'm working on other things at the moment. I just wanted a little bit of a outlet - something the garden has always provided me.

Good gardening to you all!
