Hi! I've had a 80% raw pregnancy. I loved it. First of all, I got pregnant after 6 years of trying, did IVF etc. and got pregnant once, I had all the complications you can immagine... Then I got raw and within a year I got pregnant naturally. The pregnancy was perfect as could be and without any complications.

Just before the due date the docters were freaking out that my iron count was too low (5.6). I needed a C-section (because that's how the first one was delivered) and they didn't want to do it because of my low iron count.

Now, my father is an anesthesiologist and although not overly happy that I'm a raw vegan, he did say that it is possible that my blood is diluted (with water). That's natural so that you don't loose to much blood during delivery. Well, he could just convince the ob/gyn not to postpone the C section. Guess what, a few hours after the delivery, my iron count had gone up (6.7)!!! Doctors didn't understand. I loved the look on their face!

My mother (not raw) was nice enought to bring me my favorite juices and lots of pure water to the hospital. I was back to my old self - and walking around - within two days. Didn't use painkillers - 'cause I had no pain. What a difference with the first C section... I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a month...

My baby is now almost 9 months old. I'm still nursing. He's not too eager to eat solids. I want him to though... since I know breastmilk is getting short in vit C and Iron after 7 months. He does eat some mashed pear, and avocado with apple, coconut water, but this alone doesn't give him enough protein and iron yet.

My 5 yr old daughter is 50/50. She loves most smoothies and fruits, coconuts, avocado and her favorite breakfast: banana, apple with cinamon..., raw nuts, raw fruits. And I let her drink one (small) glass of green juice (from powder) every day.

Warning: raw vegan kids need to get their minerals such a iron, calcium and their protein from green leafy vegetables. These are the foods kids usually like least. If they don't eat them, you have to give them some supplements, or cooked alternatives!

Love,
