Thumbs up Why Raw & Living Foods?

Why switch from cooked foods to raw foods? The answer is quite simple; a diet has to be full of a particular food "that nourishes or fuels the body with life-giving force (i.e. enzymes, electric or vital energy, chlorophyll, minerals, vitamins, etc.), thereby strengthening, energizing and building it, without depleting or causing any hindrance to its functions".

So what is the main difference between raw foods and cooked foods? Enzymes. Among many important factors, the most significant is the enzymes ability to aid the body in the digestive process. These enzymes break down the food in order for it to be absorbed into our blood stream. There are billions of cells in the human body, each doing a particular task. These cells are left completely depleted after the task is complete and need to be replenished.

Raw foods are full of living enzymes that replace those exhausted cells. These enzymes are slowed down at temperatures near 118 degrees F and are completely destroyed at approximately 130 degrees F. Vitamins, minerals, proteins, basically everything required for a healthy life are destroyed at temperatures that "cooked" foods are heated up to.

Raw and living foods are the best food for me because I know that every bite I take is life-sustaining! I only started eating raw about two weeks ago but I already feel so much more alive! I wish I knew about this way of eating years ago!!! I want to shout it from the rooftop!!! Raw and living foods are life!

why raw?

it makes me feel good.

nothing has ever been bettered by burning.

it makes me feel lighter. like i am floating two inches off the ground. maybe that is the cacao. hahahaa.

my mind is more clear along with my eyes and skin.

you are what you eat. you eat good foods you yourself will become good. (mental and physical foods)

it is great meditation on self-discipline.

the tastes. mmmmm.

it makes me smile.

if eating locally it is the optimal diet for sustainability.

science is slowly directing us back to pure live foods.

you can live longer by eating less calories and leaving less or no residue on the organs.

you will meet some of the most irie people in your neighborhood.

supports local organic farmers.

just a few that came to mind.

if you love love show your love.

I am raw because I used to be soooo tired all of the time.

I am raw because I used to have a puffy face and hazy eyes.

I am raw because I used to have to rush to the bathroom after each meal.

I am raw because I used to think about food way too much.

I am raw because I used to feel like my blood was dirty.

Nutrients

More nutrients per calorie means I'm not hungry after I just ate and I won't be eating useless calories. Everything you put in your body should help you and cooking (especially boiling) lowers the NPC (nutrients per calorie) and therefore is not your best choice.
