who's sick?

so, a few weeks ago i had started detoxing a lot of mucoid plaque. it presented itself (of course) in the most disgusting ways! i got a little congested in the nasal passage only. i sounded stuffed up, but i could breathe alright. my nose was running a bit, but mostly it was post nasal drip. because of the combination of those two, i was sneezing quite a bit. my co worker says to me, "oh, you're getting sick." i just replied, "no, i'm not, don't worry."

i know what it is to be sick, to have colds, to have the flu. i was not "sick" i have never been "sick" since starting raw foods. i have opened up my body and given it the allowance it needs to heal itself properly.

people have (sadly) gotten used to: you sniffle a little? there's a medicine for that. you cough a little? there's a medicine for that. the list goes on.

how i know i am actually detoxing and that i am really not "sick?"......

when i detox (most of the time) it is phlegm. when i used to get "sick" it was phlegm, too. however, the difference now is that my body has been given a break.....i no longer experience any pressure in my eyes, head, or even puffiness in my face, and no body aches. it is purely localized to my nose, or throat, or stomach. which ever avenue that mucus chooses to let go and eliminate, that area is all that is affected. i don't even get general headaches anymore. pretty amazing, actually

what bothered me about my co worker is that later on that day she said "why can't you just admit that you're getting sick?" that really peeved me off. but then i realized that she is one of the people under the spell of following what the "norm" tells you is so.

man, if people would just stop and think for themselves, they might realize, and probably be scared to death, that they have the capability to care for themselves. americans have given away a lot of their individual power to the medical field. i think a lot of it is due to laziness: americans don't really want to believe that they can help themselves, they want a quick fix, they want someone else to tell them everything is going to be okay.

well, it's all horsesh.......t!!!

IF YOU LET YOUR BODY DO WHAT IT NATURALLY WANTS TO DO, AND HELP IT WITH SUPERB NUTRITION WHO WOULD REALLY BE SICK?

but then again, if everyone was well, the american cancer society wouldn't make anymore money would they? or the pharmaceutical industries? or the insurance companies?

let's face it, america functions on sickness.....
that's just sick,
but i'm not,
i've just got a little phlegm.

did you know that the average person has about 25 pounds of excess mucus in their bodies?

kind of glad i have a phlegm detox happening right about now.

PEACE
hippie

I used to be one of those people that took Aleve for everything. A little pain, a lot of pain, take a pill. But now I am slowly breaking the cycle - thanks to raw. When I first began raw, and I would get headaches I wanted to take an aleve, but something in me said no, so I didn't. Amazing isn't it!?

I noticed when I detox I have a constant flow of tears and its usually from one eye specifically.

But I can't believe your co-worker said that to you...wtf!? Although, I am in awe that you understood the hypnotism that she is under.

25 lbs of mucus, is that really true? Is it all bad? Yuck!

Smile Sick whats that?

I know how you feel everyones answer is over the counter drugs or the doctor. The doctors answer is I have a pill for that. Thats why I go to a naturalpath if I need to, [which its been 8-monthes] and the last time was only for a check up. I hardly ever get sick. I can't remember the last time. Bornagain

you know, and the really sad thing is knowing that there are people out there that have cured themselves of cancer with raw foods, but then went back to their old habits....then met their demise.

it really makes my head spin.

anisha, yeah, wtf to my coworker. i was sooo mad! but again, not everyone has their eyes as open as others.

this goes along with some of the things that have come to me since being raw.....i know it's great and wonderful and all, but at the same time my mind can also spin thinking about all of this kind of stuff.

who ever said that coughing and sneezing was not good anyway?

I can totally relate! I've never really been one to take any kind of meds, I only take what I need to for my asthma, but i an hoping that will decrease over time too. But you know, we start to feel something change, like sneezing, runny nose, and it should be an indication that our bodies are trying to get rid of something! So help it along, drink more water, eat cleansing foods, take a walk to energize your body. But instead we are programmed to take a pill and go to bed.... and then replay in your head how lousy you feel. Well, that's certainly not going to make you feel better!

Rawhippie, I agree, people are too lazy to think for themselves, nevermind help themselves. And we've been programmed for certain things. My boyfriend has a tough time with this one, and i have a hard time not wringing his neck! He's been sick a lot since returning from a tour in Iraq, and I have told him over and over it's cause he's so toxic. He's an extrememly intelligent man with a world of great qualities. And he just doesn't get this!!! I've tried to remember it's s low process for some people, and he does eat better now than he did when I met him, so hopefully I'll keep sneaking good things in and someday I can lock him in a closet and force him to detox!

Course, I'm only patient with him because he thinks i walk on water and I don't want to dispell that myth
