When you have an active infection the best thing is to take fruits or fruit or vegetable juices for easy digestion. Then all the energy can go to the healing of the body. You could also take a herbal tea, like raspberry leaf tea is a good one in this case.
For the ear itself, you can drop garlic-oil into the ear. Garlic is the best for bacterial or viral infections. You can easily make it yourself, just chop up the garlic, cover it with olive oil, and let it stand for 3 days, then strain and use. For emergencies, if you have nothing else on hand you can put half an onion on the affected ear, and leave it there overnight.
