Is tanning from natural sunlight or sunbeds safe when raw??

Hi guys
I just have a few questions in regards to tanning when raw.
Ive read a few people say that since going raw, instead of burning and going red, they go brown- anyone notice this change?
How safe is it to tan when raw? This question has been interesting to me. I read that a cancers perfect growth environment is anaerobic (without oxygen)...and of course a toxic diet. Now I am quite fair skinned naturally, and love a brown tan but naturally, I am cautious- just how safe are tanning and sunbeds when raw?? I figure that since I primarily have a green juice diet with loads of raw produce with seeds, sprouts and nuts, with the addition to exercising every single day for at least an hour, I conclude the assumption of "How can skin cancer get me, if I look after myself so well?"
Any thoughts and suggestions would be great!

I'm always weary of substitutes; the sun tans and doing it in an artificial environment just doesn't seem ok.
Using the sun wisely, avoiding it between 11a.m and 4p.m. and not using conventional sun-block-shmears sounds right

I would start slow and avoid peak hours. YOu can start spending more and more time outside as you get browner. Also, avoid eating a lot of buckwheat greens as this can cause photosensitivity.
