Sad Love

Do you feel it is very important for your significant other to have the same lifestyle as you?

No

That's just crazy everyone is different in what they do. Now if you mean to find your perfect mate I believe that there can be more than one person in the world that could be right for you. If a chick was the same as me in everything I do it would either drive me crazy or I would very board. I think it's a good idea to find someone you get along with the best.

I think at this point in my life I would find it incredibly difficult to be close to someone who was not raw vegan. That limits my choices incredibly of course, but I manage

I tend to agree with lucky_rainboq. If I were much younger and single and not a mother, I might be more open to being with someone who has different ideas. However, I am not a teenager anymore and I am married with 2 children, so for me it would be much easier if my husband was on board with my commitment to being raw. It would be great to share the experience with him, as we could support and learn from one another. I also believe that we could be a stronger influence together for our children. I'm not saying it's impossible for one person to live a raw lifestyle while the other doesn't, it would just be a little easier to experience the journey together. I do believe, however, that I will soon influence my husband and children by my actions and I'm sure that will be very rewarding!

Oh, I believe in you, you surely will influence him!!
I agree (sorry Vej) ... at this point I can't go back. I have to have someone in my life who is raw and at least vegetarian. The disparity in lifestyles is too much. I have a hard time with my friends let alone a significant other. I had one raw vegan relationship and it was amazing... the level of communication and understanding was beautiful and encompassing.
So, we're far and few between, hence my singleness

I don't disagree I'm just saying that you shouldn ??t let your diet limit the personalities that you like. Don't let being raw prevent you from being happy. All of my friends think it's weird but we get along perfectly but of course I'm only 17 so my experience is limited.

Nah its not important Being an awesome example is more important to me. Rawfood converts happen all the time! In America one adult and two teens go raw every 13 minutes. (I just made that up)

I take dates to raw restaurants though. Sometimes I'm not quite upfront about where we're going but the response is always great. My former boyfriend agreed to eat at raw places exclusively when we dated because the food was always amazing. (And because I won't ever eat an iceburg lettuce salad, which too many places serve...because iceburg is lame )

Just my opinion though.

It's important for me that my partner shares in the same dietary lifestyle (at least be a veggie/vegan/raw). However after saying that, it's not necessary... that person should be respectful of my choices, as I would his.
