young coconut?

hi all,
i'm new been raw foodist but i'm enjoying eating raw food.
but i have a question about young coconut (i love them so much).
because i can't find organic one (i'm living in michigan) and want to know how much they've been pesticide....
i also love jicama a lot and can't find organic one too.

does anyone knows anywhere i can buy organic one or how much chemical in it?
any advice, opinion, i love to hear,

The treatment of young cocos have been a big mystery. You'll hear or read that they've been dipped in chemicals or boiled. Some people think the chemicals get through the husk into the meat and water while others don't.

Personal experience - I never had a bad reaction or off taste from a young coco, so to each his and her own.

The treatment is necessary as they can get very moldy - it's the only way to keep them from going bad or else we'd never get them.

You can get organic young cocos, you just have to look around, try google, ask your local co-op, etc.

so looks like everything has chemicals in it if they doesn't say organic, even they grow organically.....this is so sad we are living where cocos won't grow!
i love jicama, durian and jack fruit, etc.....can't find organic ones and they might be same problems as young coconut, they may grow organically but may dipped to chemicals for a shipping.....

i'll try to be more careful what i'm choosing to eat and might try to order organic young cocos from rawguru (but shipping is so high.....i might need move to west cost) and i'll ask local health food store to carry them!

Hey,

the certified organic ones are not dipped in any chemicals during shipment. They are in their husks and when reach the US are shaved down to the nut. I hope soon to have a dealer on the East coast to ship them out with free shipping.
