My blog and my weird name

I just thought I'd share my blog address http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/blogs/blog-15105/

When I registered on this site, I meant to register as "musicbebe" and for some WEIRD reason typed "message boards" as my login name instead. So that also explains my strange SN.

Hey MB (you could probably get your name changed if you contact the administrator).

Your neighbors remind me of my situation. Got invited to make Christmas cookies with my daughter and she insisted I take home 3 platefuls. They were those rich rolled sugar cookies that you decorate with frosting and sprinkles. I really didn't want to take so many home, just a few but she really pushed them on me. I think I ate one but I could taste the egg there. It was strange.

Your contest sounds like fun. Did you tell him that this is no ordinary blender, or is he expecting to just pick up a blender of HIS choice for you? Hope he knows, I've burned out many a blender before I got my Blend-tec. I've even burned out my blend-tec but it was under warranty so they rebuilt the entire thing for me.

I'll be rooting for you!

Yeah. I did talk to the administrator about changing my name, but if I understood him correctly, all of my posts would have been deleted in the process. So I figured I'd just keep it the same

I think he knows it's an expensive blender. He makes more money than me (I'm just a 'lil' housewife so maybe that's why the prize is uneven. I think if I won I would take the blender but still clean his house for free.

What kind of Blendtec do you have? How does it compare to the vitamix, or do you know? I've been price comparing blenders and trying to find reviews on them, but it's been hard. The vitamix one I'd looked at was the vita-prep 3 and the Blentec was a 3HP as well. I also looked at a Waring 3.5HP. Does anyone know anything about them?

I've used both and they both have their strengths and drawbacks.

I have the Blend-tec HP3 blender.

What I like about the blend-tec is that the base of the container is wide so it's easy to remove stuff from the bottom.

It fits under any standard counter.

The design is streamlined.

It's 3 horsepower.

Drawbacks are that it doesn't come with a tamper.

If I use bulky or too many frozen items the unit will dance around the counter.

The vitamix is great - I like the tamkper and the sturdiness of it, but don't like the tall size and the the blade design and bottom of container which makes it difficult to remove things.

Both types are LOUD and so I wera ear protection. I didn't for years of daily use and developed ringing in the ear so I highly recommend ear plugs or ear muffs whenever you use them, unless you spend enough to buy a commercial unit with a sound shield.

I've never used the waring before.
