Measuring soaked nuts and seeds
Many recipe books say that most of their recipes call for soaked seeds/nuts, but they don't say whether you should measure them before or after soaking.
If a recipe calls for 2 cups of nuts, do I estimate how the nuts will expand and only soak say 1.5? Or do soak the whole 2 cups?
I realize that this may seem trivial, and the longer I 'uncook' the less I'll follow recipes to a tee, but for now I want to make sure I get them as close as I can. I want the taste proportions right, since I have a family that will be deciding whether a recipe will be reused or not.
