Help please! Salad Dressings?

I didn't want to put this in the recipes section since I don't have a recipe, I'm wanting some...

I would like to know if you all have some good raw salad dressings that aren't chock full of fat. I'm doing really well with the 70% raw threshold, but I'm finding that I need to do something about adding bottled salad dressings to my salads. WAY too much fat. I don't mind that vinegar isn't raw since I'm not 100%. I just want to get my daily food values down in the calories and fat categories.

Related to that, I am planning to purchase Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko and Instant Raw Sensations by Frederic Patenaude as soon as I have a job again. Can anyone tell me if there are good salad dressing recipes in there? (without violating copyrights and posting here...I just want to know if they will help me with this particular concern, although that's far from the only reason I want them).

Thanks!

Renee

here are a couple of suggestions:

apple cider vinegar
lemon juice
agave nectar or honey
salt
garlic
water to cut acidity
a little olive oil

whir in chopper or blender

cucumber
garlic
dill/mint/cilantro/parsley-any or all
dash of cayenne
salt
pepper
honey or agave if it tastes bitter

cilantro
hot pepper
lime juice
apple cider vinegar
salt

now sweeten above and you have a whole new dressing

those are dressings that i make all the time. play with combinations, you'll hit on something good.

Hey there, I do 811 rv and try to maintain my fat at under 10% of my caloric intake. Key to this is keeping nuts to no more than 1/4 c a day.

I like to use blended fruit for salad dressings. I really enjoy crushed berries as dressing. Also good is pineapple!

When i want something more decadent I will have 2 tbsp of tahini with orange juice.

Papaya Watercress Salad with Lime
Ingredients:

3 papayas seeded and thinly sliced
1 ounce (4-5 stalks) hearts of palm, thinly sliced
1 medium tomatoes

Dressing:
3 tablespoons lime juice
3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
pinch coriander
pinch allspice

Arrange watercress on 6 small plates

Top with layers of papaya, hearts of palm and tomatoes

Mix dressing, then drizzle over the salads

Let stand for 30 minutes before serving

Here's one of my own:
Fwor Dressing!
1 !red pepper (bell pepper in usa)
2 cloves garlic
1 satsuma, or 1/2 orange
1 lemon - juiced
dash nama shoyu (guess non 100%raws can use soy sauce, but why not buy the real thing its lovely)
Dash raw vinegar
A tiny bit of hot red pepper. Jalapeno in usa i think would do it.
A handful of dates - fresh or soaked.
And one tomato.
Put in a food processor and process smoth, then put it in the blender so it goes creamy.
My husband loves to just put an advocado in the food processor, or blender with some lemon juice and garlic. It's very creamy, but very good for you too. A perfect dairy replacement.
hope you find one you like!

Idea Dressed up salad

Hi P,
I'm new to this site and to the rawfood lifestlye but I have been having an awesome salad and dressing for the past couple of days which is beautiful. Consists of:

Tomatoes
garlic
fresh basil
Tbsp olive oil
sea salt
1-2 dates or raisins
1 red capsicum
1/2 Jalapeno (optional)
1/2 avocado
cucumber
corn off cob
english spinach

You can really just add whatever you like! Then I blend half the ingredients and pour it over the rest! I find it really works, try it.

Hope this helps xx

Sounds delicious, but isn't Corriander and Cilantro the same thing?

As far as the books go, I can tell you there are several green smoothie recipes in the Green for Life book, no salad dressings. I wouldn't even bother with the Instant Raw Sensations book.
