To go organic or not

I admit, it's been a process to go organic. I never believed why I should buy organic when it cost more. But now that I'm raw and eating only fruits and veggies, I am all about organic. I still will buy some non-organic things like bananas when the organic ones are green green green.

I had a melon craving and I was curious to know whether things such as melons were very contaminated. I would not think they were, since they have such a hard exterior. I already knew avocados were relatively safe.

So I did a little research to see what I could find. I found these websites to be informative.

Organic or Not

Thanks for those links! They are the most up-to-date ones I have seen thus far (though unfortunately a few years past and one wonders what has happened since then). Strange to me that they put corn and papaya on the "pretty safe" list since they are so commonly genetically engineered.

I find going organic ESSENTIAL in this dayand time -- especially due to companies like Monsanto that are filtering GE foods throughout our groceries WITHOUT LABELING.

Eating certified organically grown foods -- or from local organic growers, self or friends, is the ONLY way to be certain we are not getting genetically altered food.

Foods I won't usually touch if they are not organic due to proliferation of genetic manipulation are: tomatoes, corn, soy, papayas -- what I am forgetting? That's all I can think of right now!
