Any ideas on a main course that's QUICK

SIGH, the first week of our Raw transition and I feel like I am spending WAY too much time on preparing food.

Mabye I am making meals too complicated. This week we had lasagne, sushi, flatbread, eggplant pancakes, salads. (most recipes came from the Raw Food Real World book)

Tonight I need something not time consuming, something under 30 minutes.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thumbs up Way to go kiasmine!

Welcome to your transition into Live Foods. You really started off in style. Raw Food Real World has tons of great recipes although they are a bit more difficult and time consuming. I am envious of the Eggplant Filled Scallion Pancakes. I have always wanted to make those. I really really reccomend the Spicy Chili Lime Almonds and the Jalepeno Corn Tortilla Chips. Long term raw foodist don't usually eat corn but I don't fret over raw corn once in a while.

My favorite book that contains faster recipes that are really good is the Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine. I had avoided the book for a couple years because it didn't have very many pictures! Anyways that was silly on my part. The book has become my very favorite. I use it so much that I had to take it to a copy store to have the binding removed and have it spiral bound because it began to wear out. If you try out the recipes I suggest you go easy on those that call for salt or ceyenne as their were a few typos and a few of my dishes tasted like feta or were too hot.

Once this raw food thing gets normal your prep time won't take nearly as long. In the begining it is a shock though

It sounds like you prepare food daily, like I do on a week-end. It is true, that eating raw does take a fair amount of preperation time. I have found that during the week, I eat very simple. For example: A basic salad, a blended salad, fruit smoothies, ... sometime just cut up veggies with avacado. On weekends, I do more complex dishes (similar to what you mentioned). I also do a lot of preparation on weekends. For example, I cut up enough veggies for the entire week; I freeze enough fruit for the entire week's smoothies, I make large batches of salsa and dips, and I make enough nut milk to last the week. Do you have a dehydrator? I find that making lots of dehydrated stuff for when I'm not into preparing things is a big help.

Another nice thing to have around are pate's. They are pretty easy to make and give the feeling of solidity and a full meal.

Live food soups with a simple salad might be easier as well.

Over time you probably won't crave such complicated food as much as you do at the beginning. When making the transition from cooked food where things are heavy and complex at first you might feel like you need that. As time goes on just an avocado or a mango can become a satisfying and delicious meal.

Sounds like you are doing great!
