Shall we post to this thread here?
How about a timeline? Starting tomorrow... lasting for 30 days? Kind of like Alissa's 30 day challenge.... We could also keep journals in the journal area! What are your thoughts?

I'm with you on it. Do you want to post our progress daily? Weekly? I have never done Alissa's 30 day challenge. I love this idea! I really think it's going to help us all stay focused and make it fun, too!

today is D-day!
Ok,
i worked last night so i couldnt get on BUT
today is the first day i will measure. I will post my dimensions (LOL) later today and i want to log my diet, ups, downs, etc. I have a scheduled 3 day fast next week, so I'll talk thru that too.
I am so excited! I like the idea that its 30days!! short enough to really stick to it, but long enough to get results.

shanshan, can't wait for us to all start posting. Like you said, 30 days is quite do-able but hopefully we will all see some real results. I probably won't post until Monday, today is my husband's birthday so I won't have time but I plan on starting my 30 days Monday!

i will be the first!
ok people,
I've collected my data:
weight: 187.6lbs
arms: 13" (flexed)
chest: 42" (no bra)
abs: 42" (at belly button)
hips: 45"
thighs: 26"
calf: 16 1/4"
blood pressure: 140/83 - not good
asthma: take puffer once a day
since i've started going between 50-70% raw, I've lost 8 lbs.
BUT, the more I try for 75-90% raw, and working out, I'll be down alot easier.
So to lower my BP to normal and asthma practically gone would be perfect! And as much weight I can lose within the time frame is perfect to.
i think weekly weigh ins would be appropriate, since we only have a month...and it helps to ride each others butts to achieve!! lol
i was looking at alissa cohen's site, and her recipes look hard, but claim to be simple and easy. is this true?

Her recipes are pretty simple. You can order her book through my site. It has tons of simple and complex recipes and they all taste rawsome.
Please keep us updated shanshan. Let's have the 30 day challenge start on monday. Is that ok with everyone?
The best way is to keep a journal/blog in the journal area. I also created a new secton in the gallery titled 30 Days Raw Food Challenge to post your pictures. Check it out.
Good luck to everyone!

awesome! we have begun!!!! go us!!!
I think Alissa's recipes are pretty easy. They are very standard and good for transitioning from SAD, lots of faux comfort foods I find. Her book is good and very useful. Plus there are LOTS of recipes in her book.
Thanks for setting up the photo area, rawguru!
i'll be the second to post measurements:
weight: 164 lbs.
height: 5'7"
neck: 12.5" (inferior to the larynx)
arms: 12.5" (flexed, yes i have large bicep muscles!)
chest: 36" (circumference under armpits and across upper portion of chest)
abdomen: 35" (at belly button)
waist: 32"
hips: 41"
thighs: 24.5"
calf: 15.5"
i think in addition to this, we should post realistic goals for ourselves and 3 steps we are going to take to implement these goals. These steps can be healthy habits we would like to implement such as exercising for 10 minutes a day, or eating more greens.
My Goals
i will release fat
i will gain muscle (note the "will" part: i am visualizing my success already!)
i will look fabulous in all my summer clothes!
Steps to reach these goals
[1. remain 100% raw and 80-10-10] <-- i put this in brackets because it's kind of a given that i will remain raw...
2. eat green smoothies for breakfast
3. go to the gym every day and cycle at least every other day
