Val, that's awesome! Congrats and good luck!

Personally, I noticed that the most detox symptoms happened on the first and second day. Things seemed to even out on the third and fourth day, with no detoxing at all. The intensity of your detox depends on how clean you were eating prior to the fast! For example, someone who was eating lots of meat and dairy and fast food would have a MAJOR detox where as someone who was eating high raw before the fast would not experience such intense symptoms.

Thanks lucky_rainboq. Guess I'll definitely be experiencing some major detox, as my diet was pretty bad until a few weeks ago.

I've got 30lbs of post baby fat to jiggle off too!
Now Val, you should do the intestinal cleanse BEFORE you do a fast. You must make sure your colon is not clogged up before you embark on a fast. The detox sysmptoms will be brutal if you don't.
As for eating at night, thats my plague too. I'm literally starved by 9pm! I think you are right in saying that I probably don't eat enough during the day. I will be juice fasting for three days every month - thru experience, I've realized its not good to fast during your period! You will have zero energy. I am planning on involving more trips to the gym as well.
what do you think of before and after photos?!?!
honestly reporting monthly weigh'ins, inches lost etc?
what about meeting on-line for chat most evenings instead of talking to the interior of our fridges?
what do you think?

Elsaraw, I am doing about 75-80% vegetables and a little fruit. However, now I'm wondering if I should put of the juice fast based on what Shanshan says, which does make a lot of sense by the way. About before and after photos....have to think about that one. Love to see others, they are usually so inspiring! If everyone else here is up for it, count me in! Maybe being accountable to everyone here and the encouragement we'll get might just be the thing we need to lose those oh-so unwanted pounds! I'd love to chat with you guys in the evening!

I wish I could join in that, but I work nights. Which makes it nearly impossible not to eat at night because I'm quite convinced I am starving by the time I get home.
I couldn't do the before/after photos (shudder) at least not like those one in bikinis! Eeek! The terror!!

Val, you sound good with the juice. Alot of people juice and do so much fruit but it doesn't sound like you do.

Val, How is the fasting going? Have you decided to stick with it or do an intestinal cleanse first? Did you experience any detox?

shanshan, i think those are great ideas! I'd be up for doing the honest reporting of inches/weight. I think we should set up a timeline, like one month. One month to lose as much as we can!

lucky_rainboq, I did decide to put off the juice fast until after I do my cleanse. It does sound like a good idea to do the cleanse, eliminate as much as possible (the cleanse last 4 weeks, hope I can stick it out!) and then after the cleanse I think the juice fast will be more effective and beneficial. Actually, I believe the 4th week of the cleanse is basically a juice fast because you are not allowed any solid meals. I may start a journal and record my progress on the intestinal cleanse, if anyone is interested in the results and maybe trying it themselves. I have high expectations for some major elimination and detox because I had a pretty typical SAD diet for many years. Wish me luck, I start Monday!
