Maybe a detox?

So lately I have not been hungry or eat very little like a meal or less in a day. I am drinking large quantities of water.

I am just a little concerned with this. I am forcing myself to eat now a couple snacks. I have been trough phases like this before being raw and when caoming out of it I usually began to binge or go back to normal.

Does anyone ave any suggestions as to what I can incorporate to ease the concern? Somehow to flavor water or small snacks?
Has anyone experienced this or something similar?

Thanks,

Anisha

My suggestion would be to drink watered down juices constantly throughout the day until your body detoxes whatever it is trying so desperately to get out of itself. Your body seems to be demanding a fast.

What do you eat for that one meal a day?

Hey GB,

Its happening again. So I am eating processed junk food such as chips/crackers with no milk/dairy/or meat flavoring. Or nibbling on organic chocolate or something.

I know my body is trying to talk to me, but I dont know what language it is speaking. I don't know what it wants and although I know what it doesn't want that seems to be the only thing that "makes me full" or at least satififed that I am eating.

Thanks.

Do you do any kind of physical acitivity or work out? I find that I eat a lot better when I exercise more.

If you are not hungry and tired, perhaps it's a sign for a total body rest, like a mini fast of sorts. Maybe after some extra sleep and liquids only your body will heal whatever is going on inside of you and you'll be hungry again.

Sorry Anish, I seem to have lost track of this thread.

Do you really mean the following is what you eat when your body is needing healing and rest?

"I am eating processed junk food such as chips/crackers with no milk/dairy/or meat flavoring. Or nibbling on organic chocolate or something."

I don't understand? Why aren't you eating simple raw foods, juices or smoothies? Why would you eat cooked food when your body so wants to rest and heal?

If you are going to force yourself to eat something make sure it has real nutrtion and is easy to digest! There is no reason to eat junk food is there?

If you do well on fruit that is what I would do. It's incredibly easy to "prepare", eat and digest. You can nibble on it all day and keep your blood sugars up and heal your body at the same time. Fruit is cleansing and healing.

Are you drinking lots of water? Are you getting minerals? This is a weird thing that you suddenly don't want to eat and still work out. Did I understand right that you are feeling tired???

It's not easy to hear what your body wants, it's true, but usually when the body is tired it wants rest and when it stops wanting to eat it wants you to give your digestive system a rest. Do you push yourself hard?

Fruit is restful food because it doesn't take much effort for the body to digest it. Other raw foods are just a little less restful, but are still much more so than processed foods.

Let us know how you are?

Greenbunny

Thank you Double Helix and Greenbunny.

It has been confusing. I know my option for food has been ridiculous, but let me try to explain it.

I ate/eat it processed again because it was the "easiest" choice. I didn't have energy to make raw dishes to eat and during the time that I wasn't eating, I didn't buy much food. But when I forced myself to eat, I just ate at the first place that I saw --so a convenient store.

The body was tired, so I slept. But at the same time I would have bursts of energy that would not go away from studying so I would exercise. I didn't over exercise during the non-hunger period, but I continued to if not everyday or every other day.

----------------------------

At the moment I am doing well. I am almost 100%. I see my skin clearing and the weight coming off. I have a lot of energy, but at the same time I am tired. Like I will go for a jog/yoga but when I come home I can feel my body say go to sleep now. Maybe I am pushing myself hard and not noticing it? I don't want to just stop exercising because I have a good rhythm, but I can take it slow if that is what my body needs.

I have started incorporating smoothies again and that's helping a lot. I am still addicted to black pepper, cayenne and lemon, so I try to incorporate them when I can such as with avocado, tomato juice, master cleanse drink.

The question about water, I was getting more than enough, but I am not sure anymore. I have been drinking at least 3 litres, but some nights I wake up completely dehydrated and then drink 1/2-1 litre of water.

Thanks Anisha for explaining.

I remember decades ago when I was suffering from candida and horrible infections an herbalist gave me this complicated decoction to make. I could barely stand or get to work and he expected me to stand around in the kitchen for a whole half an hour every morning! Crazy I thought!!! Impossible!!!!! I understand completely the affects of exhaustion when trying to care for yourself in a way to get beyond the exhaustion. It's a catch-22.

About water. Make sure that you are getting enough minerals with celtic sea salt. This is important. Check out watercure.com. It will give you a formula for the minimum amount of water you need and how much celtic sea salt you take. It has to be the hand-raked celtic to have all the trace minerals in it. If you don't have the salt your cells can't absorb the water and it won't matter how much you drink. Check it out.

Cayenne is a super food. No need to ever get rid of that food and lemons are live food and great for cleansing the lymphatic system. Be careful with the maple syrup. Not a live food, often filled with perservative and chemicals and can play havoc with your blood sugar levels. Black pepper can be mildly annoying to some organs but most people don't eat enough of it to do much if any harm - no need to sweat that.

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? Whatever it is it sounds like you need more while you are detoxing and healing - which is normal. It's also normal to need much more water than usual to flush out the toxins that you are releasing eating raw.

If you can find the energy try to get to the store and stock up on some more relatively healthy things that you can grab quickly. Frozen fruit for smoothies, raisins, dates, raw powdered cacao, anything you can think of that won't be the fast food route. If you can swing it one big shop could really help you from stopping at 7-11.

Last time I was at Costco I got six containers of medjool dates, about 6 bags of frozen fruit, a gigantic bag of raising and hordes of fruits including ones that will gradually ripen. When I go to Whole Foods I really stock up. I end up going so infrequently so I've worked out the kinds of things that I can buy in bulk and always have around. It's the only way to stay raw for me.

I'm so glad that you are doing better.

Thanks GB.

I want to make a clarification with the mater cleanse I use agave nectar instead of maple syrup. But I was wondering is it organic if the bottle does not say. I just assumed it was.

In terms of sleep usually between 5-8 hours. However, this week I have not been sleeping well overall.

I can't wait to be back home for such selfish reasons: to use the vita-mix, to go to costco, to go to whole foods, to visit some raw food cafes and to see my dog..

I was thinking about doing a juice fast this weekend from Friday to Sunday, I think that should help.
