Since there are no topics here, I'd like to start one.

I don't know any 'recipes' for dehydrated food, but I love to slice zucchini very thin and make sorta raw veggie chips. You can season them with whatever you want, and they're great snack if you crave stuff like chips and whatnot. I like using cayenne, salt, or garlic, but I suppose you could get as experimental as you'd like.

I use my father's convection oven, which can be set to dehydrate and can go as low as 100 F. Should I be worried about the oven accidentally getting too hot, even if it's digitally preset to stay at 100? I'd like to just buy my own dehydrator, but this is presently working out fine.

Any thoughts on dried foods?

This is an older thread but I make these too. I put garlic and some celtic sea salt on them, with a little nutritional yeast (not raw).

Ya this is an old thread, but for a while I did use my Oven on teh Warm setting it was the only option I had at first but now I have a dehydrator. I think the convection is fine until a dehydrator is available.

I think dried foods are best for those just going raw, since they give that cooked sensation. Don't forget to drink tons of water with your dehydrated foods.

Thanks for the oven tips. I have not had time to get a dehydrator and I am really needing to find new things to add to my eating plan. I love the fruits and veggies but I am afraid that if I get the munchies I will slip and eat something not so good. I have a couple of recipes that I want to try.

Post Hello All

Hi everyone. My name is Ray, from Utica, NY. I will be visiting Poland soon, and I am hoping to meet my Polish relatives. I also hope some people from here may help me in contacting my relatives before my visit. Thanks and looking forward to meeting some great people on here!
