I have heard that no almond butter sold in stores is truly raw because when it is made, the machines generate high heat. I am thinking of the Maranatha nut butters here, which are labelled raw. I have heard you can make nut butter in a food processor with a little coconut oil but I have not tried it.

It is up to you to decide what raw means to you and where to draw your lines. It's different for everyone.
