I've been researching feeding my cats raw as well.
The New Natural Cat by Anitra Frazier is a wonderful resource for a cat's general health and diet. If you feed them raw, it's really important to get the right amount of protein/fat/organ meat, and there's a big controversy about bones (whether to include bones in the cat's diet or not) right now. If you check out
www.naturesvariety.com, they have a lot of information about canine/feline health and diet, as well as nutritionally complete raw food products. I have not tried them yet, but know of someone who transitioned her cat slowly over to this food and it has been a positive experience. The food on the pricey side, but personally I'm hoping to prevent large vet bills in the future.
If you want to know more about pet food in general and all the horrible things companies put in it, I recommend
Food Pets Die For and
Protect Your Pet by Ann. M. Martin. The latter of the two focuses on pet health in general (immunizations, etc). This book also talks about a raw diet, but does not condone it, so if want a opinion on the other side of the issue, this might be a valuable resource. I hope this information is helpful to everyone!
