I raised four children raw food. Homebirth, I was the midwife, homeschooled, no shots, no TV, mostly rural living, etc. They are beautiful, healthy, and happy. They are each talented and intelligent in their own ways. My wife (I don't like the words 'my wife' by definition) and I contemplated how we didn't want to use the children as a validation or posterkids for our own principles, so we didn't gung ho with strict schooling or pressure them to be strong models or examples of success. (Proof to our argument with the society around us). They are growing up just fine and socially well adjusted as well.
Nothing superhuman, just wonderfully human. Kind and loving and clear minded are some of the more obvious qualities in them.
Sadly, my wife just broke things off with me after 16 years of marriage and seems to want to pursue more socially normal avenues of life and is leading the children towards her direction. I suspect that they are even discontinuing raw food due to ignorant sources on the internet that suggested that raw food is not sufficient and so forth.
Anyway, a lifestyle such as what you have indicated that you wish, can be very, very difficult for people to maintain. The perception of resistance from the society around you, the lack of full support of family, relatives, and often even friends, and the more likely than not, economic disadvantage of being such a minority (the minority of minorities). My experiences lead me to believe that it takes a village...
A strong network and close friends would be your greatest asset with the world around you.
You would be welcome to chitchat with me off the forum on these topics that may not be totally raw food alone related. I would suppose that my user name or profile provides a link to email through. Like I've indicated, I walked this way before for a quite long time, through sometimes tremendous opposition, and lived all over this country, and maybe could lend some helpful insights and fruits from my experience in these kind of matters.
