For Support/Lifestyle Change:- "12 steps to Raw Foods" by Victoria Boutenko. If you can find a used copy of the 2000 edition, read that one first. Both the old and new (2007) editions are good, but I think the first edition had several insights that didn't make it into the new one.
- "Sunfood Diet Success System" by David Wolfe. This'll take longer to read. It covers the mental, spiritual and physical aspects of the raw food diet. He also has a lot of info that isn't widely published elsewhere, like how most raw cashews aren't truly raw.
For an all around reference:- "Rawsome" by Brigitte Mars. This book has a little of everything (sprouting charts, info on foods/vitamins/nutrients, recipes, FAQs on protein, calcium, B12, etc.)
More scientific:- Any nutrition book by Gabriel Cousens ("Spiritual Nutrition", Conscious Eating" or "Rainbow Green-Live Food Cuisine")
- "Diet and Salad" by Norman W. Walker (look for it used). A shorter scientific approach to raw foods. It's about 30 years old, but surprisingly still applicable. Warning: he emphasizes lots of carrot juice, which might not be advisable for someone fighting diabetes.
