As far as I know almond trees are tropical I'm afraid - but I'm not exactly sure of their range.

You might want to google almond tree culture or growing or horticulture etc. to get to a horticulture site with instructions and zones. You might even get to a almond tree retailer site that will give a zone map for growing almonds. What temperature zone for growing do you live in? My guess is that almonds will grow in 10, maybe 9 but unlikely in 8 and doubtfully in 7. I'd imagine that you are in 7 or 8.

Good luck! I sure hope you can grow them. Are you aware of how desperately hard it is to get an almond out of it's fruit and hard shell? Maybe you know a trick, but when in Puerto Rico I got a hard lesson on what eating almonds in the wild demands. They grow on the beaches there.
