Shall we add that eating raw makes logical sense. I haven't always felt better eating live food. If you do it long enough, life has it's ups and downs along with its fluctuations in health, fitness, stress, life happenings, accidents etc. but it's the only way of eating that my mind acknowledges as logical and hence I keep with it. It's the way that we are designed to eat physically. The moral and energetic reasons aside.... cooking food only makes sense if you are living in a hostile environment where raw food designed for humans is not available. During famine, drought and forced migration to difficult environs due to overpopulation or lack of food - cooking became necessary for survival - but it is not the human animal's natural and ideal sustenance. Our digestive systems, fingers, teeth and biochemistry all point to us being primarily fruitarian animals. I want to eat what is most appropriate to my body.

There are so very many positive experiences that can and do come from eating what you were designed or evolved (depending on your viewpoint) to eat that are completely subjective. Everyone experiences it differently because of our glorious individuality - but one thing that is consistent in my mind, is that raw is the native diet of the human creature.

When I was first starting out someone asked me: If you were walking by the side of the road, you were starving, and you saw
1. An injured rat
2. A patch of grass and weeds
3. A grub or worm wiggling on the dirt
4. A ripe piece of fruit
what would you most be attracted to eat?
Then they said:
If you were a carnivore like a cat you would hunt and finish off the rat and tear it to pieces with your claws and sharp teeth.
If you were an herbivore like a cow you would chew the grass and pass it through your many stomachs.
If you were a reptile like a lizard you would lick up the grub with your sticky tongue.
As a humanoid, you would most likely grab the fruit with your fingers designed to grab and peel fruit.

I would grab for the fuit. When I finished off the fruit I would see what kind of weeds I could eat without poisoning myself and then I would see if I could build a fire to make the rat and grub able to be digested by my fruitarian body.

That antidote told to me so glibly so very many years ago made a permanent impression on me. I think about it often when choosing my foods. I think that we have thrown ourselves so far off what is normal for us that getting back sometimes necessitates working with what we have conditioned ourselves to..... but raw vegan is the logical, ideal human food.
