Zoloft advice please!
I was hoping someone might have some advice regarding weaning off Zoloft? I have taken Zoloft for just about 2 years, 200 mg. for the first year, 150 mg. for a few months, and so on decreasing the dosage down to now 25 mg. As you can tell, I weaned down VERY slowly as to avoid withdrawl symptoms. Four days ago, I decided it was time to stop the medication altogether (since I had been on 25 mg. for several months). To my dismany, I am experiencing zap-like feelings in my head that are actually painful!! Hoping someone out there might be able to share a similar experience with stopping Zoloft and what they did to make the process easier to handle. Do you think I should have decreased even more, perhaps 12.5 mg? I believed decreasing from 200 mg. down to 25 mg. over the course of a year was quite conservative so I am surprised that I am experiencing these withdrawl-like symptoms. Hate to start taking the medication again, if I can just get through this rough period! Also, I am planning to do an intestinal cleanse next week and so that is why I thought it was the perfect time to stop the Zoloft, so that my body could truly begin to cleanse. Does it seem like I am trying to do too much all at once??? Would really love some input on this, as some other information I have read on the internet scares me into thinking that I might have to go back on the medication, which I would like to avoid if possible. By the way, I have been about 75% raw for just about 2 weeks now. So, brand new to this way of eating but truly know it is the best. Thanks, in advance, for any and all help! P.S. LOVE this site - Rawguru, you're doing a great job!!! Thanks for your dedication in making this a great forum for all of us! You're awesome!
